The Hollows — Restaurant in Town of Mount Pleasant

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch on our last day in Sleep Hollow. We sat at the bar and enjoyed several drinks and the bratwurst. The bartenders were friendly, helpful, and quick with service. The drinks were excellent and the food was tasty. With 30 drinks on tap, there is easily something for everyone. The boyfriend tried the old fashioned on tap even though he isn't a cocktail person and couldn't leave without getting a second one. We were pleasantly surprised by the bright, open atmosphere and fun Horseman touches. From the "leather" bound menus to the Horseman purse hooks under the bar, there is something interesting everywhere we looked. As a huge fan of the Sleepy Hollow story, particularly the Headless Horseman, this place is a must. I loved the screen worn costumes that were on display, as well as the art along the wall. The atmosphere just felt right while sitting at the bar, and the bartenders were great! The food options were a tad limited, but definitely a non issue if you know what you're getting into. They had 29 drinks on tap, with one of them being an Old Fashioned, which was by far the best Old Fashioned I have ever had. And yes, you read that correctly, an Old Fashioned, complete with bourbon, on tap. And it was delightful. The Hallows is my new favorite place. The food is pretty good. My experience there has always been positive. However, this Saturday evening around 6:30 was a surprise. I went in to get some takeout. I was told by this guy in a DeCicco vest…..(He looked like a manager) and a harsh tone of voice, that because they were so busy take out was not available. My response was, it’s too busy to order food? He said the only way to get service was to sit at a table. From what I saw there were no available tables.
