Planet Fitness — Local services in Town of North Hempstead

I am writing this letter acknowledging the excellent service provided at the Carle Place, New York Planet Fitness location. The manager (Sana), and Heather (Sana's manager), are among the most effective managers in the fitness industry. They listen to customer concerns and work to fix any issues that happen at this club. They work hard to keep the gym clean.

This location (Carle Place) maintenance is difficult one, because of the traffic it receives. Being 24/7 makes this location the best gym in New York City, but some spoiled, entitled, or jaded members constantly ask for more personalized services that can not occur at the price point of Planet Fitness. Unfortunately, very few of the same customers who complain about cleanliness seldom bend down to pick up random paper towels or debris that others may have tossed on the floor. A gym is a community in itself, and not a private country club. We all have to help keep the gym clean.

There are times when the Carle Place gym location seems below Planet Fitness' corporate cleanliness requirements, but the stress involved in properly servicing such a high volume fitness facility can be overwhelming. People do not take pride in their work in entry level positions anymore. When MOST of the staff are asked to help, they help. Throughout NYC, workers can be seen stepping over trash on the floor, instead of picking it up.

The men's showers do have hot water issues. Some days it works, other days it does not. The shower heads do not stream properly and are old. Unless this was fixed two weeks ago, this has been a problem for a year. BUT the price is low for the gym, so we patiently wait until repairs happen. Last year, a men's locker room sink was broken for months. Some clothing hooks are missing in dressing rooms in men's locker room also, but it is accepted because the price is low. Secondly, careless customers break things also, so it is not always Planet Fitness' fault.

During the week, the Carle Place, New York location is regularly so clean and pristine that customers make demands on the staff as though they are paying membership prices similar to high-end fitness clubs like Lifetime or at least Equinox. At night, and on the weekends, staff might miss some things. It does not help that many customers are dirty and have zero pride in their gym. Carle Place Planet Fitness is the best value, dollar for dollar, in New York.

The Long Island/ New York State minimum wage is $16.50 per hour. Because of the high cost of living in New York, a lot of employees are not motivated to work hard anymore. A good job should be done, no matter what they pay rate is, but that is not how it is at Carle Place Planet Fitness. That is how younger generations are. They fail at simple tasks like placing tissue paper in bathroom stall dispensers and place the roll of tissue on top of the dispenser instead. This happens at night and on weekends regularly. With these poor habits and lazy attitudes, managers are left to manage gyms differently and are responsible for making sure all work is completed themselves.

Overall, the Carle Place, New York Planet Fitness location is the best value in the nation, but most customers complain and are entitled by the hypnosis of getting so much value in at a location that is convenient to everyone. New York is one of the most expensive cities in America, yet a outstanding value can be enjoyed by all Planet Fitness members who visit or join the Carle Place location. It is perfect? No, but the staff are nice and the equipment is new. Nothing can be perfect that has the volume of visitors that this gym has. This is a beginner to intermediate level type gym, and many of the customers do not know proper gym etiquette. They do not return their equipment back to the racks where they are supposed to be. All in all, the staff are nice and the gym is a jewel for providing such an accessible facility where...

Dont even think about. Joining Planet Fitness. Staff is a Complete Joke. You are basically use ALL THE EQUIPMENT AT YOUR OWN RISK. TRAINER IS RARELY AT THE GYM. MOST OF THE CARDIO EQUIPMENT. ISNT WORTH YOUR EFFORT. MOST OF THE CARDIO DOESNT WORK. PLUS ALL THE INFORMATION. THAT SHOWS UP IS 100% FALSE. THE FLOOR IS A TOTAL MESS. PLANET FITNESS HEADQUARTERS. DOESN'T WANT TO REPLACE IT. PLUS ON THE LEFT SIDE. THEIRS A CANOPY. WHICH DOESN'T BELONG IN THE GYM AT ALL. PLANET FITNESS HEADQUARTERS. RATHER STEAL ALL THE MEMBERS MONEY. THEN TO MAKE CARLE PLACE A REAL GYM. THE BIGGEST JOKE IS THE AREA MANAGER. HOW HE GOT THIS JOB. IS THE $64,000.00 QUESTION. HE WASN'T EVEN A GOOD MANAGER. THE MANAGER OF CARLE PLACE. IS STILL NEW. AND HIS AREA MANAGER. DOESNT HELP HIM OUT AT ALL. PLANET FITNESS OF CARLE PLACE. SHOULD GET A ZERO RATING FOR A GYM.ON LONG ISLAND. STAY AWAY SAFE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. DEC 17 2018..... TO THE OWNER OF PLANET FITNESS. The assistant manager has a very bad attitude and does not know how to talk to people with respect been a member there since Planet Fitness opened up (black card member )first time ever assaulted verbally from management (assistant management) at this location ,,I was cursed at and yelled at and during the whole time ,all I said was stop yelling at me ,I didn't yell back nor curse back ,I was so surprised and upset from the unprofessional behavior from the assistant manager, This girl who is the assistant manager showed no respect towards a member who has been with this company for over 10 years, (longer then she worked there)herself and most importantly THE COMPANY PLANET FITNESS, cursing someone out and yelling at them in front of everyone is not a friendly environment to go to and that's exactly what I got there,very insulting embarrassing when getting cursed at,I would like to speak to someone above management, They wouldn't give me the assistant manager name at that location, the girl assistant manager was extremely nasty and rude, As I was gathering my things the male staff started giving me threatening looks and told me to get the fu×k out of here and called the police, All because I walked to the black card area in which I am a black card member for years ,and she started yelling at me asking me WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE IN A NASTY TONE, and all I said was stop yelling at me get control of yourself which caused her to start cursing at me ,NOT ONCE DID I GET LOUD NOR CURSE BACK ,,if you want a warm safe environment where staff will speak to you with respect this isn't the place until Planet Fitness gets rid of bad staff ,the night staff are always on there phone not willing...
