One of my hobbies is claw machines. I often travel to Orlando for the clawcades there as well as any arcade that has more than one machine for me to play on. There are some local arcades that have machines with the RNG turned so up that after you drop $100 you don't even get one prize. THIS IS NOT THAT CLAWCADE! ā¤ļø
I happened to see the grand opening post on Instagram from locals I follow and knew I had to come in the first day. The employees were extremely nice and welcoming. They even had the family helping out (it was so cute for one the kids to offer me a bag).
The price itself is reasonable and on par with other arcades. You get approximately 25 plays or so if you put in about $40. Which isn't bad at all price wise for Tokyo style games.
Some of the prizes are well known IPs such as Bluey, Hello Kitty, Pokemon, SpongeBob, etc. However the Japanese style stuffed animals were by far my favorite! They even had 2 machines with Sonny Angel. The arcade has a combination of regular claws, 2 player (smaller claws) with keychains, and a few push clip machines. It was fairly easy to win a prize within a few tries, even if you aren't skilled.
I love the trade up feature especially for stuffies I didn't like as much. Managed to trade up a Kitsune and Snorlax fairly easily and the biggest prizes are not unattainable.
They are brand new so right now they primarily focus on the stuffed aspect but they do state that snacks and drinks will be coming soon and I hope that they might add in some of the other style claws in future. Either way I spent my day and won a ton of prizes. The capybara gift for the grand opening was perfect! (It is my favorite animal)
Honestly, if you are a gamer or weeb like I am and are in the Pinellas vicinity even if it is for vacay, I whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewhen I tell you this is the best place in Tampa, it is. although it uses a card system like other places, itās much cheaper than them and only uses 8 credits for large machines while others use 10+. (small machines at this place are 7). the payout and chance for it to drop in are also relatively easy. since the prizes are stacked really high, moving it closer or bouncing it in are high chances. thereās a lot of people usually in there playing so playing after a person and getting a prize on the first time is very likely. The deals are extremely good here. They also sell the packages as $100 (and a bonus) for 640 credits! Even though they donāt have many trade upās, theyāre all so cute! (from what I saw) from bears sitting in mangos, stitch bags, tom and jerry plushes, to a small variety of cute blind boxes, this place is the best for everyone! Just a heads up though- you canāt trade up the items from the small machines for points to get something bigger. You get what you get, and I wish they wouldāve had a sign up to tell people, but hopefully itās added in the future for other customers! Other than that, this place is really nice. Cozy atmosphere, cute trade-ups, nice staff, and overall really easy to get prizes! Sadly, you cant trade a prize for something in the same machine, but they are more than willing to reposition it for you so itās super easy! Make sure to visit if youāre in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I just had a baby, and with my family of five visiting, we were hoping for a little time to ourselves while they played at Atomic Claw. They loaded cards with $40, $20, and $20, but all of it was gone in just 10 minutes. By the time we left Johnās Pass (just 5 minutes behind them), they were already walking through the doorāso much for getting a little break.
The pricing is extremely misleading. The machines are advertised as $1-$2 per 4 credits, but most claw machines actually cost 10 credits per play, making it way more expensive than expected. There are no traditional arcade gamesājust claw machines that seem geared more toward adults than kids. The two kids came home with 3 plush toys combined for $40 and 18 year old came home with 3 for $40. It didnāt seem worth it to me for them to spend $80 for ten minutes..
Overall, it was a huge waste of money and not the experience any of us were hoping for. They were very disappointed....
