My wife and I had been wanting to stay at the Fusion. We have a boat and the convenience of being able to leave our house by boat and stay somewhere with docks is nice. We visited once before by boat just to check things out. There is good and bad. I suspect the owners of this resort have not owned a resort before and maybe just don't know what the word resort means. Pluses and minuses here: The docking experience is good and Edwin does a fantastic job and is very accommodating. The rooms are nice and the kitchen decently equipped. The pool is nice The pizza is fantastic. We did not have any other food though, so can only vouch for the pizza. The person that checked us in, don't know his name, might just be the most annoying person I have ever dealt with, ever. The hot tub water was very yellow. While we were in the pool, the maintenance crew came around and the guy that appeared to be the boss took one of the skimmer baskets out and dumped the leaves that were in it onto the pool area by smacking it against the fence top rail. The leaves and debris partly fell on the pool deck and some stuck to the fence. No "resort" I have ever stayed at operated in such a manner. I suggest you train your people to respect your property and get a garbage can to dump the baskets in. One of the other employees took a second basket filled to the top with leaves and dumped it in the grass right next to the pool deck. First wind that blows will be blowing them right back into the pool. Not to mention the unkempt appearance a big pile of leaves in the grass provides. The rooms are advertised as having laundry in the room. Our room had the space and plumbing, but no machines. Many of the employees of the resort look rather shady and untrustworthy. I hate saying it, but it is true and knowing those people may have access to your belongings does not leave you with a comfortable feeling. The folks above us seemed to be having a children's party or something above us. Perhaps they were playing musical chairs. We could hear feet pounding constantly until at least 11PM. From then until 1 AM, someone was literally rearranging the furniture every 2 minutes. We did not call the front desk as I did not figure it would solve the problem. I cannot blame Fusion directly for it, but the construction certainly is not as soundproof as I would expect from a resort that charges more than 300 per night. The room rates are way to high for what you get. I suppose they can charge what ever the market will bare. They are fortunate that Florida gets a lot of tourism and people will pay those high prices once. Anyone that has stayed at a real resort will probably not be back given the current situation there. Calling this place a resort and charging a resort fee is a little disingenuous. Having a pool and hot tub does not make them a resort. I saw parking listed in one of their replies above as part of the amenities. Really? Parking is an amenity? Having bikes does not elevate them to resort either. We were told the bikes were rental bikes besides. We asked if they had bikes for rent, they said yes. A real resort would have more amenities than a pool, parking and bikes. The restaurant is not open for breakfast nor open late and has a limited menu.
"A resort is a self-contained destination that can provide for all of your travel needs in one location. You can find food, drinks, entertainment, shopping, and other activities all without needing to leave the property."
-Lastly, I mentioned some of the above to the front desk person, they had a surprised look on their face, and I got the feeling nothing really would be done.
We recently stayed at the Longboat Key Club, which is a true resort and paid roughly the same price, including the resort fee. I think Fusion could use the word resort in their name if they hired someone with resort experience and trained their folks to do things how they do them...
Read moreWe were so happy with our choice at fusion. We thought about booking last yr and didn't. We booked with prob less then month before our vacation we stayed july 14-22nd 2023. We unfortunately had to switch rooms halfway thru a. Cuz it saved us money to stay in regular 2 bdrm for first 4 days and stayed in premium suite the last 4 nignts. That was worst part. But just to let anyone know the premium suites only difference is they have washer and dryer only difference and on top two floors i believe we were told. But i will say we stayed in room 404 and 509. Both views were outstanding. Beautiful we seen dolphins and a couple manatee while at fusion. We got to fish by the bridge. We swam at pool. Had some drinks at the bar. Got golf cart rides and also used the free bikes. This place has it all plus they ha ve 8 Tesla charging stations u can charge ur tesla or Ev while at resort or hotel. Which is awesome! It charges u thru app which was easy once we figured it out we rented a polestar and easily charged it on the white charging stations. So i will say the majority of the staff we had the most interactions with are absolutely phenomenal. This is a pretty small place so u kinda get to see a lot of them in a weeks time. I will say we loved G. He is absolutely the best he makes this place extra special. He really does he gave us rides to beach and hes just super kind talkative guy and very helpful. He was the best!! Also missy i think shes the manager she's the sweetest i absolutely loved her! She is also awesome! The staff at the bar were great as well kevin and guy from plant city lol. They were really great. Also have great talent that plays on the weekends. It is a really great place. Not far walk to beach or anywhere...but when it was like 98 degrees n super humid much easier to take the golf cart. But also free beach ride more then happy to come get u from fusion n take u wherever u need to go. Also uber or lyft u can get rides to wherever johns pass or wherever for less then 10 bucks. Its a great place try it a day or 2 if ur not sure. Trust me u will enjoy it its absolutely beautiful. Also have rooftop area if not having events u can go up to it and check it out. Its absolutely beautiful rooms where clean beds were comfy. And the bedding cool air conditioners work well. And the fans extra plus in the rooms and living rooms. We got to look at the 3 bedroom 3 bath units they are absolutely beautiful and huge the balconies are like double the other rooms. We def loved our stay kids made friends with the neighbor kids and stayed out of our hair which was a bonus. Lol. But i can't imagine not loving this place the views are great. It might not be beach view but u see boats n tour boats n dolphins and just beauty. And beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We hopefully will return in future. We are from pittsburgh so harder to come like some people we met were staying from local or less then an hr or 2 from their homes. So its def a go to for locals. So always trust locals they know the good spots! Only downfall i could say since we flew in was having to bring beach towels and not having beach chairs and stuff for beach but.u can rent them or buy some cheap enough at Walmart or wherever. That's totally up to ur vacation $ how u want to go about that but to me was only thing we missed from not renting someones condo that provides those things. But def far from deal breaker 4 us. We bought a chair and it flew home with us for free thanks to southwests amazing bag policy!! Anyway u wont regret a stay here!! We were so sad to...
Read moreWe enjoyed a lovely stay at Fusion Resort Waterfront Suites in July 2025 for 6 days. My comments are a mixture of positive, negative, and hopeful aspects of the experience. ||Positives: The room was indeed a waterfront view from the main living space, master bedroom, and deck. Watching the sunset each evening was a plus and meals on the deck were delightful. Watch out for the birds, though, because a seagull swooped in and grabbed a sausage link from our plate. This seemed to invite other birds to survey our location for a couple of hours. The kitchen area was well stocked, and the bedrooms and the general living space were nicely furnished. We unnecessarily bought a coffee pot, so ask the front desk before you purchase something because they may have items you need in storage. Also, if you want to attach technology to the television, bring the appropriate cords for your devices. There is no beachfront at the hotel, but the beach is a little less than a half mile from the hotel and the beach parking lot is convenient. The pool and whirlpool at the hotel were very refreshing and generally not too crowded; a benefit of staying in a smaller hotel. Hotel staff were very accommodating, especially Megan, the afternoon/evening desk host, who accommodated us when we asked to change rooms upon arrival. ||Negatives: (1) The mattress in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable, something we complained about after the second night. No response. After the third night, we insisted upon a new mattress, as one of us sustained scars from the metal poking through the mattress. When we complained more vigorously, the hotel sent someone to check the mattress. Wonder of wonders, the mattress was upside-down on the bed, and we had been sleeping on the underside of the mattress!!! Housekeeping staff were very apologetic and corrected the problem, and the right-side-up mattress was very comfortable. (2) The housekeeping supervisor was a new hire and just getting acclimated, which meant we had to ask almost daily for additional towels and to have the kitchen trash emptied. ||Hopeful: I’ve been intentional about calling the facility a hotel, as it functioned more as a hotel than a resort. It has potential for becoming a resort, but the vibe is not there. I saw that they once included a water service, but the bottle was empty and calcified. There was coffee in the lobby. Music was playing in the pool area, but there were no other opportunities for entertainment. The rooftop lounge area, for example, would have been a great space for a jazz ensemble or drinks and a dance party on weekends. There are several nice seating areas on the grounds, so consider a guest host who could facilitate engagement. Also, since there is no kitchen, room service and meals were not available. Perhaps a catered meal or an evening hors d'oeuvres gathering would add the resort feel. The SIPS portion of the hotel’s signage was missing. Make this hotel a resort, please!||I recommend the hotel because the prices are reasonable enough, especially for a family or group stay. But do not...
