Stayed a few days. We have been here many times over the years since it opened. Opal Collection has a standard of excellence that helps make a vacation or getaway great. Last year, this area was devastated by storms. I am amazed at how much is completed most of the restaurants and shops are up and running. I am disappointed with my stay at Treasure Island Beach Resort. I called the hotel before I booked to be sure it was not in the midst of repairs. I was told no. Never mentioned the repaint of the building by the guest rooms so I was aware. I would not have booked. It was mentioned when we checked in. We asked if our room was involved. We were told our area was completed. Asked about the pool area, no problem. A highlight is always coffee overlooking the gulf in the am. Our first morning woke up to banging and yelling by the painting crew, preparing for the day. The scaffolding was in front of our room too. During the day it was loud and scaffolding moved up to place. Asked to be moved which the manager did. A better view, bigger suite. But it is unclear why he wasn’t aware the room he put us in was involved the repaint. Then we we didn’t have to spend part of the few days we had there, moving ourselves to another room. Beds with notices on top regarding keep windows and doors closed to prevent damage to the room. The resort has wear. The cloth of lounges by the pool were broken, quite a few. I mentioned it and the next day they were removed. With the painting, the pool area was not an option. No pool attendant so no cool water or cups-we asked and he made us comfortable. The staff went above and beyond their duties to be sure all were comfortable. I took photos of the broken chairs, mold in the showers. I took photos of the scaffolding. I won’t add them out of respect to the staff. The general manager who checked us in and managed the problems, and his staff seem to be doing all they can. And more. Never said a word about staffing but it was obvious, Opal, maybe you need to lend a few hands in their direction to get it to your standards again. This once pristine resort and the area have been through a lot. Reach out and support them. Decided to add photos.

OVERPRICED & UNDERWHELMED. We recently stayed here for my daughter's spring break. I suppose our expectations were too high as we were disappointed there wasn't more to this "resort". One food place inside called BRGR that has 4 burgers on the menu. No good tequila or top shelf drinks either! No room service allowed and every young person on the staff seemed to be inconvenienced by simple requests like adding a vegetable to our order or helping me to the door with my drink. At one point we went to order breakfast at 10:40am and was met with the response "we're not doing breakfast anymore it's too late" when in reality breakfast ends at 11am. Finally someone of senior staff came and took the order without issue. We spent approximately $700/a night for a decent sized room. There were a few hairs in the sink, crumbs in the crevice of dining table, room lacking a remote, lacking a restaurant menu, and the fan motor in our freezer sounded like it was going to explode. We actually had to put loud sleep music on for our daughter so it wouldn't keep waking her up. No balcony as our sliders opened up to a public area which worked out well as that was the only place we could bring our dogs. Fair warning: NOT AS DOG FRIENDLY AS YOU'D THINK! They weren't allowed on the beach, in the pool area, or anywhere else except the room and the main patio. There is no designated area to walk your dog either. We brought our dogs so we could spend time with them as they are a part of the family but unfortunately they would have been better off at home with a sitter. To conclude, I had a few fond memories- Carol working at BRGR was helpful, accommodating and eager to help us. I was happy to leave her a large tip. Amelia was sweet at the front desk. John was very kind to help me with my bags at check-in (although no one was available to help during check out.) But our $4500 Thurs-Sun vacation would have been better spent at a larger hotel like Don Cesar where my family (dogs included) felt more free to enjoy ourselves.

Booked 11 days for around $4200 for a single. I have to give a negative to head of housecleaning/general manager, there doesn’t seem to be a regular schedule for a wipe down or deep clean of rooms. Take a black light to light switches or other areas and they just haven’t been addressed for some time, fabrics like curtains aren’t cleaned, spots on walls, ceiling, or other areas. Daily cleaning for bedding and the bathroom and elsewhere are clean and kept up fine. The staff are very friendly, and the property is nice, I had no parking issues. The view with ocean facing rooms is a must experience. The suite with kitchenette is a good option for families or a working vacation. I do not recommend the 1st floor pool suites, I had multiple guests walking through the “planters” separating the waking area and my suites supposedly private patio space to chat/lounge outside my unit and directly outside the slider views. The hotel can’t help clueless guests, but signage or a better barrier would be nice for those given ground floor units for privacy. The hotel is primarily family oriented than adult with a fair amount of kids running around. The pool is on the smaller side and often very busy during the day by families, luckily you still have a large ocean available instead. For those that aren’t familiar, the beach is mostly crushed seashells until you get closer to the water and the finer sand. Just a heads up to watch your feet and bring a towel or blanket. While a little more expensive than other options on the beach, you do get a nicer property than most. Is it a 5 Star Hilton, No, but neither is it an outdated run down hotel like others still operating in the area. Overall this is definitely a good pick for a family wanting a higher end experience.

This is going to be a decently long review but worth the read!

To start off... The staff are top tier. MAJOR shout out to: Ahmed, Crystal and Alex. The front staff were just absolutely amazing. Ahmed was so kind and friendly and helped my uncle and I switch rooms and refund rooms when we got there. It was a huge task and a lot of headache but he reassured us it would all be good and it was. Alex, was amazing and so friendly. He even one night gave us a some free laundry detergent when we were in a rush. Alex, also went above and beyond to help my mom extend her stay 3 days and be able to stay at the resort. Crystal blew us away when we checked in at 1:30am. When we arrived super late crystal asked us what floor we wanted. Obviously this being our first trip we didn't know if we wanted 2nd floor or 5th floor etc... she literally showed us 3 different rooms at almost 2am and let us pick. NOW THAT IS SERVICE. I've never seen staff so friendly and literally trying to make our stay the best we've ever had ANYWHERE. These three.... Crystal, Alex, Ahmed are the reasons we will always come back to this place. I hope they stay and get big raises because the service, attitude, friendliness, and just overall the best hosts etc we've ever had in 20+ years.

Now to the resort,

The resort is amazing. A little pricey, but worth every penny. Could the prices be about $50 lower? Yes... but at the end of the day you pay for what you get.

The views are insane, the rooms are clean.

The balconies are amazing...

I do wish they used a scent after cleaning the rooms that was a little less fragrant. People with asthma as myself can sometimes be bothered by to strong of cleaners or fragrances sprayed after cleaning. If they could find a lighter fragrance that would def help some. However, just opening the windows and popping some popcorn it all worked out.

The restaurant BRGR was truly great as well! I love the fact that they don't serve tree nut pancakes or really any allergen containing nuts at breakfast. It's hard to find places that don't cross contaminate there stuff in restaurants. We ate breakfast almost every morning at BRGR and I honestly can say the pancakes and omelets were the best IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I wish I knew the recipe for there pancakes. Absolutely UNREAL... so good....

The only downside to the resort is if you get a room that's far from the lobby you will definitely be doing some walking to and from the rooms. The hotel is U-shaped so there is some walking. To be honest, its not that bad.

The pool is good, but smaller than I would have expected. It still does the job but the company should 100% in the future extend the pool width and make it quite a bit bigger. With that many guests, the pool needs re-done 100%. Not sure how they would do it but hopefully the company see's this and makes it bigger! :))

The beach isn't that far of a walk and the water and views are just absolutely stunning.

I literally cant write enough about how amazing our trip was June 8th-13th. We all loved the hotel, we loved the rooms, we loved the hosts at the front...

My brother is a doctor down in St. Petersburg... so now every time we come visit him we will be 100% staying at Treasure Island Beach Resort... By far the best experience in traveling we've ever had. Only a few minor things could be tweaked.

And as stated above, we really hope

Alex, Crystal and Ahmed get raises and really hope they know how much they mean to us! Honestly, just them in general made our whole trip! They have no idea what it meant for them to be so nice and how it made us feel so welcome and so refreshing to have people who actually care about you. Thank you - you three.. thank you so...

My wife and I stayed at Treasure Island Beach Resort for 4 nights, one night was free due to APRIL deal ( be sure to check OPAL deals by googling as you can save) OPAL owns these hotels. We were there for our anniversary. Treasure Island Resort were nice enough to upgrade us to a room on a higher floor, and they gave us a bottle of wine and some food as a gift along with a card. So there you go. Nice touch. The rooms are very big. Good for 4 people I would say. A family. We had 2 queens. Very comfortable. There is an iron and ironing board. There is a Full fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher ( they give you stuff for that), there is cutlery, plates, cups etc. There is a stove and pots and pans. All works good with hood above stove. There is a living room which is comfy with a TV. There is a dining area for 4 people. We had a balcony that gave us a nice view of the hotel ( pool area) and we could see the beach from there. The hotel has 1 pool ( that is quite small but it was fine ) Wasn't a ton of people using it. Most are at beach or out exploring. There is an amazing restaurant at the hotel called BRGR. Get the Noon Burger. Its outstanding. Um. What else? Coffee! They provide you with a Nespresso machine and Keurig is in the lobby. Not good really. So go get your coffee from the Starbucks (4811 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706, United States) 10 mins south on the same road outside. Or go to a French cafe 9 mins away called Cafe Soleil, (5501 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706, United States) they do nice coffee and pastries. As for other restaurants. I would recommend going to for one night a place called Texas Roadhouse. Steaks are amazing ( 10105 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg, FL 33708, United States). There are lots of places to eat around the area but those are the 2 places we used. BRGR was so good we went twice to it. It's in the hotel. Saves you driving. As for why we only gave this hotel 4 stars and not 5. The price. It's expensive $399 a night before tax, then you have resort feet per day of $35 a night plus tax. One really important thing to know is that they "Don't" charge the resort fee until you arrive. Meaning when you book, you are only paying for your rooms + tax, then you arrive give your card and they bill you for the resort fee which sort of makes sense. Just in case you get confused. They also put $50 a night on your card while you are there to cover for anything you break. If you break nothing or don't order it goes back to your card. Look, it's not a place you could stay there more than 4 nights as it's costly but overall we enjoyed our experience. Staff at front are very friendly. There is a cuban guy there. Amazing guy. Loved chatting to him. I cannot fault this place. Clean. They come and clean your rooms each day and do turn down service where they leave chocolates on the pillow every night. They give you 2 waters for your room each day. Towels for the pool are down at the pool. When you go through the gate there are 2 pool boys who give them to you ( included in resort fee). They also have a nice GYM. I used it once. I highly recommend room 606 ( I believe). We stayed in that. Why its good as its on the top floor and the door opens into an enclosed area ( not exposed to air like the others are). It's also right beside the gym around the corner and near the elevators. They give you a wrist band to let you in and out. You use it to open doors, and enter parking. Pretty cool really. Overall great experience. I would stay...

This resort is the best, if I had the option to rate 💯 I most definitely would. Beautiful spacious spotless room, bathrooms have gorgeous showers and again totally spotless. The entire room is filled with gorgeous decor that flows from the hall to the kitchen and into the living area and bedrooms and washrooms, 2 full bathrooms.. There also is a pullout couch with a top of the line thick mattress, the kitchen is filled with top of the line cookware .. The pool is always clean as well as the hot tub. They have a complete gym that once again is spotless, laundry facilities with comfortable chairs that I’d actually have in my home..Everyday they bring out freshly made cookies in the lobby as well as a massive jug of water that has been sitting with different fruits, to quench your thirst.. I had read reviews before going and some stated the pool was small, that in not true, it’s lovely and an excellent size. Never crowded, facing the ocean.. You can see the sunset and beach while in the heated pool, just gorgeous. If you need absolutely anything the staff has it to you asap, they are all such lovely people who truly care about their guests. The manager Clark goes way beyond to make sure you are comfortable, and always greats you with a smile, for those that just want or need to talk, Clark will take the time with no hesitation to sit and have a lovely chat with you.. He’s one of a kind and I’m honoured to have had the privilege of meeting someone so kind, I will never forget and now consider a new friend.. I’d also like to mention security, what some don’t see when tucked away in their beautiful rooms at night, There is another staff that most don’t see or even realize are there watching over the property.. I had an extremely pleasant experience on my first morning after arriving. I was up at 5am, but so excited about going down to one of the chairs to wait for the sun to set.. it was really dark and I was a bit hesitant about going alone . I’m am so happy I did because while outside I heard a voice, turned my head and there was a security guard with a bright welcoming smile, his name is Nick. he asked if I’d like a coffee, I mentioned that I was nervous about it being so dark but wanted so much to see the sunrise and until then just take in the smell and calming noise of the waves from the ocean in the comfortable chairs they have set up.. Nick told me not to worry , it’s safe here and to make me feel relaxed he said he’d stay close to calm my nerves and enjoy the first morning experience.. Every morning I was up at 5 am and down in the same place and Nick made sure each day to come and offer me a coffee and reassure me he was close unlocking gates at pool area, once done, he’d check on me and chat for a few minutes. This in my opinion is not part of his job description, it’s kindness and genuinely caring about the guests. Not only have I found the most beautiful resort with spectacular ocean views, I’ve also made some friends that will be in my heart forever. I saw kindness like I’ve never seen before, Everything about this resort was perfect.. This is now going to be my family’s go to spot, not only for the entire resort’s beauty but because of the staff that are happy and willing to always go that extra mile to make your stay an unforgettable excellent experience.. Many thanks to the manager Clark, and Nick from security.. Thank you again for sharing your paradise with my family.. We will be back...
