This is the 2nd time coming to this Hotel. The first time they where so helpful and courteous that we have recommended this Hotel to everyone that we talked to. That stops now.... management and front desk employees have been changed since then and the new crew are horrible!
In a matter of days Dorian changed from an un-named depression to a Cat 5 Hurricane and all of the sudden it was heading our way so we called to move our 08/31/2019 stay for the next weekend or any other weekend when a Cat 5 Hurricane was not coming our way; but the people on the phone happen to be the most rude and unapologetic that we have ever encountered.
I don't think that our request was completely unreasonable due to the magnitude of the situation but they where SO RUDE on the phone that this review is not even about the fact that they did not granted our request, but how complacently clueless they behave and how we believe that they are in the wrong profession... they need to be behind scenes with no interaction with customers as they are just trashing the name of this hotel.
On the phone, while we are trying to explain the reason why we are requesting the change, the lady just started talking over me and started citing "hotel policy" like a 10 year old doing his oral presentation... over, and over, and over again. I have to politely remind her that "I am the customer here" and how rude and unprofessional it was talking over me. I literately had to raise my voice and say "Lady! STOP talking and listen for 1 second!!!!". I asked her name and she say "PAM" then I proceed to ask for a manager to which she tells me SHE is the Hotel manager!.
It's sad to see how badly this people treat customers and nor my family, friends or I WILL NEVER come back to this hotel unless I find out this people has been replaced.
As I told the Manager "PAM" on the phone, she has NO WAY to compete with the large chains hotels (4 seasons, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt) when she treats paying customers this way. Nor Her or her employees knows what customer service is!. I prefer to pay more at a Marriott a block down the road just because the fact that I KNOW I will NEVER will be treated so rudely by any of their employees over the phone...
Read moreOur stay at this property was, without a doubt, one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the suite we were assigned smelled strongly of raw sewage. The front desk manager knew about this issue (apparently stemming from unresolved hurricane damage two months ago) and still checked us into the suite, calling it “the nicest suite in the building.” The smell was overwhelming, making us sick to our stomachs immediately upon entering.
When we called to report the issue, the front desk manager dismissed our concerns, sending housekeeping with Glade plug-ins—an inadequate solution, especially since I’m allergic to such products. Despite clearly stating that we could not stay in these conditions, the manager was short, rude, and dismissive, repeatedly hanging up on us.
Anita, the housekeeper, was the saving grace of this ordeal. She empathized with our concerns, acknowledged the persistent sewage odor, and advocated for us to be moved to another room. The manager reluctantly offered another room, but it was unclean and occupied. Anita worked tirelessly to clean it for us, demonstrating kindness and professionalism far beyond the manager’s lackluster effort.
Unfortunately, the issues didn’t stop there:
The dryer didn’t work, leaving us unable to dry our clothes despite following the front desk’s incorrect instructions. Basic supplies like a sponge were missing, forcing us to buy our own to do the dishes. The bathroom towel rod and showerhead were broken, requiring everyone to share the master shower—a major inconvenience. The elevator was out of service for 75% of our stay, making the building inaccessible for our elderly guest and turning luggage handling into an arduous task. Worst of all was the front desk manager’s attitude throughout our stay. Her unhelpfulness, dismissive tone, and refusal to take our concerns seriously soured our experience even further. The only recompense we were offered was a comped cleaning fee—a paltry gesture given the magnitude of the issues we faced.
This property is clearly not being maintained to acceptable standards, and the lack of concern for guests’ well-being is appalling. I strongly urge anyone considering this property to...
Read moreThis was a girl's trip with 5 of us. We stayed in 202 which had two twins in one room, a king bed in the master and a nice fold out bed in the living room, also a king. Great place to stay with plenty of room for all 5 ladies. Including two full bathrooms which was essential! Provides pillows, extra blankets, and even a washer/dryer in the suite!!
Great location, although it's a bit of a walk to the water. It was a beach view and none of the other hotels are any closer (being that it's FL and you might get washed away in a hurricane if it was any closer). Close to some mid-range restaurants. Loved Foxy's! It looks like a hole in the wall, but trust me, Great, fresh food!! After Foxy's (about 3-4 blocks away) stop by the Super Scoop (just across the street from the hotel) and get a cup or cone! Delicious!!
Everything was very clean. From the floor, to the shower and kitchen (typically the dirtiest places). I was very impressed. Kitchen has everything you need (except for a dish cloth). Has a dishwasher, nice stove, microwave, fridge, etc... 3 TVs! In each bedroom and living room. Lovely balcony. Being on the second floor, you can yell down and talk to each other by the pool :). Only down side is that some of the chairs are worn and need to be replaced.
The pool was great!! Heated. Clean. Lots of pool noodles. Excellent!!! Hot tub and lots of chairs and umbrellas. Part of the deck was destroyed in the hurricane. But didn't distract the beautiful pool.
Parking is free and convenient. Everyone was super nice!! Took our pictures and were generally friendly. Don't take the "petty cab"! Too expensive. Drive or walk.
We plan on...
