Do not get a custom piece done here.
We got custom wedding bands done for my wifeâs wedding ring and had them soldered to the ring.
First, through the whole process of creating the custom bands the jeweler (being respectful and not naming names) did not help in the process of the design. We must have made 6 or more changes to the design (driving an hour up to their location almost every time) at every step when my wife expressed what details she wanted the jeweler to address he had no suggestions in making it work⊠more we canât or it is what it is comments. So for every adjustment we would look to the guidance of the jeweler and instead ended up having to tell him to âbring up the haloâ or what have you because he had no input. This is very disappointing because he is a manager at Jared and couldnât work out the fine details that we could miss and he assured my wife that they would make the custom piece with the same look and feel of the ring. I will go into more detail but needless to say, the bands did not meet the expectations and my wife was very unhappy. When we finally got the bands in after months she brought up some issues but the jeweler shrugged off her concerns and hurried us to sign the receipt and get out the door.
Second, this applies to the issues that she noticed first thing when receiving the ring. One thing to note is that we were so excited to finally get the ring back and have been waiting months⊠and when my wife finally got the ring with the bands she noticed something off about it and didnât feel that they got the fine details of the ring into the bands. Upon further inspection it turned out that the bands were soldered lopsided so that the ring was not centered where as the lines that end the small diamond rows were lined up with the ring on one side but off on the other. So not only does that show that the bands werenât soldered in alignment but the diamonds along the band do not align with the diamonds on the ring. So it was as if they were trying to cover up a mistake they made.
After all this, and no helpful input from the jeweler on making the band fit the ring because they didnât have a matching band set, we now have bands that: do not have matching diamond sizes (the diamonds on the ring are small to big and the diamonds on the bands are all one size), the diamonds do not line up (even though they say they will re-soldier them so that the ring is aligned), there are gaps between the ring and the band because they failed to notice that the ring is tapered to make any suggestion on that detail, my wife specifically asked to make the halo of the bands work with the halo of the ring and they couldnât take the time to make it flow, just left it up to computer generation and no human eye from a trained jeweler.
Needless to say my wife is very disappointed and ended up disliking the bands⊠it is very sad because she was so excited and now she cant even bear to wear it with the bands on it. We are also very disappointed in the service because she was promised that they would match the band to the ring and failed.
After all this we pointed out every flow that same day to Jared and set up an appointment to talk to the jeweler. In the end we wanted to either get a refund or a in store credit but were told that it is what it is and we have to deal with it. They could only re-solder it to re-align the bands. I canât believe that this is how they would treat a returning customer who at the very least was willing to return something to use their refund in house.
Updateââ Lastly, notice the disregard for customers who have posted negative experiences. They would rather comment on positive reviews than fix their...
Read moreMy wedding band bought from Jared repeatedly has had diamonds fall out of it. Each time I took the ring in an associate would comment that this was a common issue with rings like mine and reviews for the ring on Jaredâs website say others have had the same problem. This was slightly annoying but not the end of the world since I had a warranty and they always fixed it.
However this time I received a call from assistant manager Cory saying the diamonds would continue to fall out and would I like to purchase a different ring? After I declined and asked him to continue with the repair, he continued to push me to buy a new ring, then when unsuccessful with that he moved on to say the ring is beyond repair and their repair folks refuse to fix it.
I explained to Cory the sentimental value of the ring my husband placed on my finger at my wedding and I would like that ring and not a new one but Cory seemed to want to turn this problem into a sale. I should not need to explain to a jewelry store the importance of my piece of jewelry.
Eventually he said they would replace my ring with a new one exactly like it for free but I would need to purchase a new warranty for the new ring. So my option was a broken ring, paying for a new ring or paying for a warranty for a replacement ring. Why should I pay for a new warranty when they were the ones refusing to fix my existing ring that they know is defective and yet continue to sell? And what would keep them from refusing to fix the new ring when that one inevitably breaks too? Why would I want to give Jared more of my money after this? Cory offered no kindness or understanding and made me feel as though I was silly to still want my wedding ring and silly for thinking they should honor the existing warranty.
Coryâs boss had to step in and kindly offered to cover the cost of a warranty for a new ring. Unfortunately when I went to pick up the ring Cory refused to cover the warranty and I had to wait for him to get ahold of the manager to confirm he said he would. Cory was very short, continually unkind and not understanding. And then when I finally was given the supposedly brand new ring it was already missing a diamond!
After dealing with this for weeks, being in the store for over an hour and being treated very rudely by Cory, I gave up arguing and took the new ring (after they had fixed it) with the new warranty that Jared may or may not honor. I am now too scared to wear or even touch my ring. I do not know why Cory had such an issue being helpful or kind. Someone working in a jewelry store should not have difficulty in understanding the sentimental value that is placed on a wedding ring. And Jared should not be selling a ring that they know is defective and then refuse...
Read moreHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My Husband & I purchased our wedding rings @ the Clackamas store right before they closed down that location. We always purchase Lifetime Warranty/insurance with every piece of jewelry that we buy. My husband purchased me a Diamond & White gold anniversary band for Christmas 2 years ago. The ring was too big & I lost it within a couple weeks of purchase. We returned to Clackamas location & told them what happened &they gladly gave us a great deal on a replacement & told us they would transfer the warranty to the new ring. The Clackamas location closed down so we had to start using this location & have had nothing but issues since. When taking my rings in for the 6 month inspection for the warranty, I was told that they "could not find the warranty on the band". I told them the story of what happened & was told "oh we found the coverage, just give the sales associate this # (they wrote down my cc acct # on paper & put with my ppwk) when you come in & they will have no trouble finding it. I just returned last week (my 1st time back since COVID) & was told the anniversary band did not have the warranty. I explained to them the entire story over again, gave them the # I was told to give them & was told they could not find it & it did not have a warranty. This is absurd. We have spent thousands of dollars @ this store the past couple years but will NEVER buy another piece of jewelry here. The big issue is that they acted & looked @ me like I was trying to pull something over on them. OH & BTW, they sold us a warranty plan on my husband's wedding ring & when we went to buy a new one (his was stolen) was told that Jared did not sell anymore. We went to Ben Bridge Jeweler b/c they had his ring & they informed us that this particular ring comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY from the actual Jewelry maker!!! no need to ever purchase additional warranty. SCANDALOUS!! WILL NOT RTETUNR TO JARED FOR ANY...
