For a fresh opening, these guys hit the ground running! Once they really get into a rhythm, this will be the top spot in Tucker.
I had no idea that pancakes so light and fluffy could be so filling--and I'm pretty big! It looked like something you'd see on the cover of a magazine. They're souffle pancakes, so they're made with whipped egg instead of cream, if I understand correctly.
My partner also let me try his "croffle," a cross between a croissant and a waffle. It was buttery and crisp on the outside like a croissant, which paired nicely with the cream on top. The inside was also fluffy, as is the theme of the cafe.
My partner's mom's order came a bit late, but it was a new addition to the menu, and they're pretty busy currently due to the influx of new customers. All things considered, they're doing really well in terms of speed.
I'm not sure what their hours are, but if you're an introvert, maybe coming after 8 PM would be best for you?
As far as service goes, they're very friendly and focused heavily on providing good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Don't expect them to stick around and chat, though--they're diligent in trying their best to feed everyone!
I'm also really glad they had a bench close to the door--I'm in crutches due to an injury, so having a place to sit and rest for a moment before ordering was very nice.
I'm honestly a bit embarrassed that my partner's father felt the need to pressure them into hurrying on my partner's mom's order, they looked like he startled them a bit and my partner's mom honestly didn't mind waiting for good food.
The only issue my partner had was with the cookie crumbles on top of his drink plugging up his straw. It was easily resolved by getting a bigger straw.
Overall, this was a nice experience and it was a breath of fresh air after how life has been recently.
Edit, after reading other reviews: It is important to note that most countries don't pump food with sugar like the US does! The US is notorious for pumping food with enough sugar to make it addicting, so they don't have to spend anything on actual food quality.
Because the food at Fluffy Fluffy is designed by Japanese standards (I believe its owners may actually be from Japan!), it may not be sweet enough to someone accustomed to American sweetness--which is a good thing, if you want to go through sugar withdrawals gently before emigrating to a country better than the US, like Finland or New Zealand or the 30+ other better countries.
Please keep in mind that on a global scale, this food is more "normal" than anything you'll find in the US (and also higher quality).
As a sugar addict who is used to everything being sweet to begin with, and as someone already wanting to escape this place someday, it was really nice to be able to experience what that will be like.
Thanks for giving me something to look forward to when I find a better place to call home,...
Read moreIn an area that tends to be a food desert, Fluffy Fluffy is a great addition to the neighborhood! Fresh food, great service, clean and warm atmosphere. A little pricey but you get quality.
What was best about it? The place was very clean (they got a 100 on their last DeKalb County inspection) The food was freshly made and tasted great. We got several things - the salmon waffle, the avocado waffle, and the french toast. The savory items were served with greens and salad dressing. The greens and the fruit served with the french toast were all fresh and very tasty. One of us got the Mango tea, and it also tasted very good. The sweet items were not sickly sweet, which is very much the case with most desert places. The amount of sugar was much more in line with what you find in many other Asian cuisines. The service was spot on. We were waited on quickly, the staff helped us choose our items, they knew the details about the items we were ordering, and they were flexible when one of us ordered and paid but then changed their mind about what they wanted. Items were brought to our table when they were ready by someone who was pleasant and seemed to be happy to be there. The choice of menu items was good and interesting. We enjoyed trying the savory items because they were served on a croissant waffle which was a little bit sweet. The selection of teas and coffees looked good although we only tried the cold mango tea.
What did we not like? Well, it is not a cheap place to eat, but given the quality, I thought the prices were reasonable. Most of the other restaurants in the area may be less expensive, but the quality of food in the Northlake Mall area is really not good.
Will we go back? This is the real question. And the answer is absolutely. We will be back to try the coffee and a sweet dessert. We are looking...
Read moreWandered over to get a dinner the newly opened Fluffy Fluffy dessert café after glancing at their sumptuous-looking online menu. Realizing that they only had a few savory choices, we were ok with that. Unfortunately none of the savory items were available as the staff told us, “this was a soft open.” So we opted to go to a nearby restaurant for dinner, promising to come back for dessert. About an hour later, we were pretty full, but…come on…there’s always room for dessert! The building has a light, bright inviting decor with bright yellow & blonde wood being the overall color vibe. We decided on an Oreo croffle to share. This might be my NEW FAVORITE DESSERT. Not kidding & not exaggerating. Definitely big enough for two, this ne’re-before experience was a croissant (buttery goodness) in a waffle maker, immaculately piped with a luxurious cream and topped with a few crumbled Oreos and drizzled with chocolate syrup. It hit all of my dessert-y notes, sweet, salty, buttery, crunchy, creamy & fresh! We absolutely loved it & look forward to trying some of their other options. Everything looked as delicious as the online photos. We will definitely be back...
