I just bought a new house. I was extremely excited to do all my service with Home Depot because of their reputation. Unfortunately, I was wrong, and I had to take my money elsewhere. I order a refrigerator inside the store, and ask for it to be delivered to my house. The associate was having problems with taking payments for the refrigerator and ask me to go to the front desk to complete my order. I completed my order and expected my appliance to be delivered to my HOUSE. I got the call the day of the delivery and was TOLD I would have to pick up my order, and if I wanted it to be delivered to my house I would have to pay $80. I told the sales rep I was not going to pay $80, she said she would talk to her manager.
After 3 hours of waiting for a response, I decided to go to the store and talk to the manage myself. I talked to the sale rep and once again the tried to charge me for delivery of the appliance. After a while they told me they would waive my shipping fee and I would have to wait until Monday. Than told me they delivery crew was behind so I would have to wait until Tuesday for delivery. I said that fine. I would like to be compensated $100 for the inconvenience. They refused. I asked for the regional manager email and they refused and gave me a 1-800 number.
So I cancelled my ordered, and I ordered over $4,000 in appliance elsewhere, and the competition price matched every item. The only thing Home Depot got from me was $1,100 that I paid for blinds and security cameras.
They BEST PART IS, Lowes, Best Buy, and Cowboy Maloney knows how to DELIVER TO THE HOUSE!!!
Hopefully me and Home Depot can mend our relationship, until then Ill be shopping at Lowes for these $1,500 house projects. All I wanted was to be compensated for the inconvenience. I understand mistake happen, but to offer me an $80 waiver for something that should have already been waived is an insult to my intelligence. Hopefully next time they will not make the same...
Read moreI honestly do not know what is going on but we have had two bad experiences. No one seems to know anything. The first time was messing up our order for some tile when we were doing our kitchen renovation. Then when they found the right tile they said they would have it at the pick up place at the end of the store. Our contractor went to pick it up, who by the way lives an hr away, and no one knew what he was talking about. No tile had been brought to the pick up doors, they couldn't find the order or our tile in the store. Communication is the key since we had been in contact with someone for two weeks. Information is not passed down to employees or employees do not communicate well amongst themselves. They finally found our tile but no one was around to help him load it, he had to chase someone down and was there for two hrs trying to get someone to load. Multiple tile boxes by the way. The next experience was today when we had set for 12 hrs at home waiting on a lawnmower to be delivered. We had checked on it three times that day tracking it. Three different people told us three different places as to where it was and even sent emails confirming. At 7:30 pm which is too late for them to be delivering (was what we were told by management), we called. They were getting ready to close. We got a hold of management. The lawn mower was in neither of the three places that had been told to us before. It had been put on hold to be delivered for the next week. Needless to say we demanded to speak to management. They traced everything down, found where it was and was nice enough to compensate us a little. You almost ate that lawnmower cost. We will probably not do anymore business there. We used the Tupelo store because we were having it delivered to our parents home in Saltillo. It was a gift for...
Read moreUpdated 5/25/2021: My sister talked me into trying Home Depot again due to a sale on chairs she wanted (😜)... Still not crazy about the layout but the items were priced this time and they were very visible.. I went not expecting help so we were prepared to help ourselves. An employee decided since we were women HE had to take over and tell us what we needed and he didn't know any more than we did. He followed us around the store listening to our conversations and trying to make us get what he thought we needed. We finally had to be rude to get away from him. And this last part is beyond compare!!! As we were loading the truck an employee offered to help. We thought ok, good, because we were tired by this time. All he did was get some twine and hand it to us. Made some sexual innuendos towards my sister and me and actually patted me on the arm !! No. No. That isn't appropriate. If I hadn't been so tired I would have went inside and reported him. I was just ready to get out of there! Home Depot isn't for this country girl.. ------------------'---------''''---- I don't enjoy the layout of Home Depot. Seems everything is "willy-nilly" and can never find anyone to help me. Why not make the prices available on everything without having to ask. Very aggravating - like a yard sale with nothing priced and you have to ask...
