On the morning of 1/8, I was attempting to buy several items from the children’s department, (Dillard’s, in Tyler, TX). Did not see anyone, (someone had been there and must have temporarily stepped away, which she never asked me if I needed help, which when I asked for help, she didn’t seem interested))....no problem....so I went across the way to men’s department to make my purchase. The woman, sales associate, at the men’s counter made a big deal about no one in the children’s department and had me follow her back to the children’s department and had me stand in line...at 2nd counter in the kids department that I had initially had not seen. I asked the woman from the men’s department if she could not check me out? She responded that she’s not supposed to unless I really wanted her to. While I was standing in line she comes and gets me and had me follow her to another counter in the children’s department to be checked out. I asked about opening a Dillard’s account and was told that I would not get my 10 percent discount that day. It would be in my next purchase. Bad vibes from the time I walked into the children’s department and the the sales associate’s attitude in men’s. I put my items down and left. Gymboree (located right outside of Dillard’s), was very happy to help me. I used to work for Dillard’s. When did they become self-serve like discount stores?...
Read moreDillards shoe department...... Vultures feeding ground. This place is always swarming with salespeople. I avoid this place like the plague, but yesterday went in because I was shopping with my mom. We were greeted with a nice salesperson that told us if we needed him to let him know. No sooner did he say that, I turned around to look at the rest of the shoe dept. & I counted 9 salespeople swarming the MIDDLE of the entire shoe dept. This is such a turn off to people sincerely interested in buying shoes. I walk thru here every time I'm in the mall & I take one glance & look away because the vultures will pounce. This department needs a serious makeover & the people need attitude adjustments (mainly the women). Every time I've encountered the salesmen they've been distant but totally available, respectful & tasteful. The women are a totally different story. I'm just saying I've spoken with many friends & clients about their shoes dept & the only thing I ever hear is how turned off people are to be bombarded by salespeople & hovering while you shop. Please change something about this so more people like me feel less inclined to write a negative review. I don't do this often but it seems to be...
Read moreI have been to Dillard for years. It was late Saturday afternoon. I went to the shoe department and the guys were friendly. I bought a pair of Adidas that were $100.00. It was a 5 minute transaction. Then I went to the Poll section looking for jeans. There was a black security guard that did not utter a word. I asked the older black woman if she had my size. She responded “I would have to look through everyone and I don’t think we have that”. There was another tall black guy in another department. He told me they did not have my size. I looked and they had my size. I walked over to Daniel Cremaix. He helped me fit a minute and dismissed me and began waiting on another customer like I was invisible. I am in my late fifties and had on shorts and a tshirt. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I was dismissed like a street person. I was very embarrassed. I am retired and have quite a bit of money. I was treated badly in 3 out of 4 departments. I will never ever enter that store again. My Mother has shopped there for years. Someone needs to reevaluate your customer service. I have never been treated so badly at any store. I was...
