I’m giving this 3 stars because in general I like this Nordstrom, but this review is mainly about their bridal department.
We went to try on bridesmaid dresses (a small party of three bridesmaids and one bride). First of all, when we arrived, there were a number of women sitting at a table. We walked up and weren’t sure if they were staff or customers and as we awkwardly stood there one of them said, “Oh don’t worry, we all work here.” We let them know we were there for bridesmaid dresses and one of them stood up to help us. She asked about style and we gave her some information and she brought us to one of the dressing rooms. A few moments later she came back with a handful of dresses and hung them up. She told us to go ahead and try what we wanted on and she could help us pin etc.
There were four of us and two of our kids in one large dressing room so we inquired about how we were supposed to get dressed. One of us in particular feels very self conscious and we expressed that we’d like more private dressing spaces. She then picked up the dresses and walked us to one of the regular fitting rooms outside of the bridal department.
The dresses themselves were in very poor condition. Many had broken zippers or had pilled. The salesperson was in and out to help us occasionally pin or see if we needed anything, but we did most of it ourselves. There was a woman and her daughter in there buying regular clothes and their salesperson was doing way more for them than ours was for us. While our salesperson wasn’t outright rude, she also wasn’t very helpful, nor did she go out of her way to be friendly. Since we were in the regular dressing rooms there were tons of people going in and out trying to find dressing room space. I’ve also never been in a place where you don’t look around and peruse the bridesmaid dresses yourself.
Overall I was really disappointed with...
Read moreI had a very poor experience at the men’s suit department. I bought my father a tailored suit for Father’s Day. The sales associate, Chris, worked with my dad on measurements and informed us it would take a week before pick up. Once we get the text, we can pick up the suit and leave. He then added we can also try on the suit if we wanted to. He proceeded to put the charges under my dad’s name and even though I was buying the suit, didn’t bother to take into account that I am a nordy club member, which means alterations are free. He proceeded to charge me $260 for alterations. Later on, I called Nordstrom to corner the altercation charges and to see if $1k suit points were applied to my account. They were not. I was told my Nordstrom customer service to get the adjustment when I go back to the store for pickup. I did so today, and several things went wrong. First, Chris insisted that alterations were not free. Later another sales associate worked with me to remove the alteration fee due to my Nordstrom Club status. I am not sure if Chris is not aware of the alteration policy to provide free alterations to club members or if he was just trying to overcharge me for his commission. In addition to suit needed a second round of alteration (which is fine) but was NOT what Chris had originally recommended for we do. Which was to pick up the suit and leave. He said it was typically for multiple rounds or alterations but that is only something he shared at the second visit. Imagine we went home with the suit only to find out we have to make a second trip. Very disappointed with the poor customer service and the lack or accountability displayed by Chris. He in fact was very condescending about the need for a second round of alterations which I didn’t appreciate. Spending 1k on a suit- Nordstrom...
Read moreLong term Nordstrom customer of ~20 yrs. This review specific only to recent order placed and curbside pickup experience which proved less than favorable. After parking in one of dedicated parking spots for "Curbside Pickup", I proceeded to call number listed on sign expecting to be directly transferred to someone tasked with handling that service but was surprised to find myself calling store general line and having to select a few options prior to being transferred to someone that said they would be out in a few minutes after providing my name and number. Fast forward to a few minutes later Nordstrom Associate appears outside of my driver's window and explains to me that my order was "received" on 9/4 (incorrect as that was date my order was placed from Nordstrom store and could have easily been confirmed with phone number and name I had been asked for and merely provided moments earlier which are also attached to my Nordstrom Rewards membership which tracks all of my Nordstrom transactions) and one has two weeks to pick up prior to it being returned. My response was that someone from Nordstrom had only called me yesterday to inform me that my order had arrived and then went to showing him "voice to text" message on my mobile phone where he recognized name listed and said he would go to that department or ask that individual. He ultimately returned minutes later with my order. Happy was able to find it ultimately but did not prove to be an overly convenient or accelerated process. With time it took I could of parked my vehicle, found the item inside of Nordstrom and purchased it again and exited store in a shorter time. Would highly suggest that Nordstrom look to improve their curbside...
