I recently changed insurance so my medication (adhd stimulant and controlled substance) became more expensive, which means I now rely on GoodRx to get my meds for a reasonable price. I usually go to another CVS, but I noticed the Target CVS had a coupon that would bring my medication from 40 bucks at my usual CVS to 20 bucks. I used to frequent this target CVS, but there was always a long line and I once had an issue where they actually only gave me half of my script and I couldn’t really do anything about it because i left the target and my script is a controlled substance. It wasn’t ever really a big deal or anything, mistakes happen and I understand the strict regulations of my medications. I specifically told my doctor to send over the generic version (as I always do) but when I got to the pharmacy the pharmacist told me that he couldn’t accept my coupon because it was brand name and I told him I can have my doctor call back and send back over a generic script. The pharmacist said, “No we should have a manufacturers coupon.” At this point the pharmacists tone had completely changed and he actually started talking to me like I was a child, which was strange given the fact that I was being extremely polite about the whole situation. There wasn’t a manufacturers coupon so I asked again if we could switch to generic since so that I could use the coupon on GoodRx which would have brought my total from 80 bucks to 20 bucks - not a small amount of money!!! That’s when the pharmacist told me that they do not accept coupons for NARCOTICS. He was not discreet about this explanation in fact he said this fairly loud again, talking to me as if I were a child. According to goodrx, it’s up to the pharmacists discretion whether or not they want to accept the coupon. I have never had a problem using these coupons at any other CVS. It seems like the pharmacist just didn’t feel like redoing my script. I NEVER leave reviews simply because I never feel strongly enough to do so, but this was an obvious exception. DO NOT COME HERE, there is a REAL CVS right across the street on...
Read moreI have had maybe three good experiences total at this pharmacy in the years I've been going there. Two of them were from the techs being awesome, and the other was from the pharmacist actually doing their damn job like they're supposed to.
They seem to frequently rotate out pharmacists, which can't be good. I've had a pharmacist berate me for calling in a refill too early, berate me for calling in a refill too late, refuse to give me the type of needles I needed without a prescription (although a prescription was not needed for those needles), and tell me my meds will be ready the next day, only for me to find out the next day that they didn't actually fill the prescription. They seem to never have my medications in stock and seem surprised when I ask if they do. It took them MONTHS to catch that my insurance wasn't covering my prescription because there was an invalid coupon in the system. Who knows how much money I've wasted because of this?
The CVS website is inaccurate and difficult to navigate, their text message reminders often don't come through even though I've signed up for text reminders at least a half dozen times, and if I call in for a refill, it doesn't actually put my refill in, so I have to go in and ask for it, only to be told it won't be ready for another few days. Those are probably more of a CVS-corporate problem, but I never had these issues with the Collegeville CVS. I have to believe this particular CVS is underfunded given that it's small and in a Target, but it's immensely frustrating to not be able to get your meds on time.
I've since switched to Wegmans and so far, their text messaging system is better, their web interface is much more usable, AND every single person I've spoken to seems to actually...
Read moreThe pharmacist was very rude. She did not ask if I had any questions about my prescription or if I had gotten it before and then refused to ring up a drink and 2 bags of snacks stating it would take too long and she had other prescriptions to fill. I then asked if they had a returns bin I could place my items in because I didn't have time to wait in two lines during my lunch break and she stated they are not Target. If you can physically ring something up from Target, you should probably have a spot to place items that someone is not purchasing. Would you prefer I left them in the walkway leading up to the Pharmacy counter? I've worked in customer service of some form for 10+ years and the customer in front of you always takes priority over the ones not physically...
