This place started out very good. The food was great and the portions were huge. My family and I stopped by on a bi-weekly basis. It got to a point, we'd even grab breakfast from there when we were rushing to work, school, etc. Recently, it seems everything's gone downhill. I'm not sure why, but the staff is now cocky and very, very rude! Especially the girl with a nose ring. She's very condescending and extremely rude on the phone. I was so shocked when we called to report that our bag of food was missing 2 birria tacos and she said talked to me like I was lying. I tried to explain to her that I'm a regular customer and we always get food from there, but she wouldn't hear it. She even went ahead and used the phrase "like I was saying." At this point, all I could say was "wow, wow, wow!" I was speechless and fuming, but I didn't even know what to say. We hadn't cooked dinner that night and I'd been working for more than 9 hours.
Anyway, she eventually spoke with someone and confirmed that I was telling the truth, but then it was too late. She'd already treated my family like trash. She spoke to us in a very condescending and very, very, rude manner, that it just put us off. We never went in to pick up the food because, at that point we couldn't trust it was safe... especially after ther way we were treated by this lady. Anyway, the food quality was already going downhill and they were always missing something from the order. This made my decision to never, ever return to this place really easy. It may not bother the owners, but if you treat one customer badly, you'll eventually get cocky and treat other customers badly. I don't care if this place becomes the next 10 star restaurant. My friends and family will never even look at the corner where this business is located. We'll buy elsewhere or make our own. It's very easy anyway. I don't need an apology. I just want others to know our experience with El-Gordo Bros in...
Read moreIt’s been about 4 years since I visited this convenient store and restaurant. Well it doesn’t have a sit down on the inside. They do have a few seats on the outside and I never realized the name was called El Gordo’s but I was told back then there is a taco Tuesday so I would frequent this place back then I used to eat meat, and would grab 10 at a time and have two days worth of meals and mix it up between beef, chicken and pork. We happen to be on our way back from Allentown PA. We’re a little bit hungry and El Gordo popped into my head and said said you know what I’m pretty sure they can make a vegan taco. They have all the ingredients stopped in was greeted by a nice young lady. She likes to be called Asian girl she really knows her stuff when it comes to what they have not soon after we ordered and within five minutes we had bags of tacos, ready to roll. The are very nice people, this place has a great vibe, they do everything fresh every day here and they were very happy and not camera shy at all as you can see in some of the pictures which was awesome and I think it’s fantastic that whoever the owner may be offers such a great deal in such a volatile price markettremendous value in some delicious food made fresh. What more can...
Read moreI discovered this incredible Mexican takeout spot 2 years ago, and it's become my absolute favorite. The birria tacos are a game changer! The tender, flavorful meat combined with fresh toppings creates a taste explosion. The enchiladas are another highlight, perfectly seasoned and smothered in a rich sauce. What sets this place apart is the attention to flavors; each ingredient complements the others, resulting in an authentic and memorable dining experience. The variety of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas ensures there's something for everyone. Not only does the food exceed expectations, but the drink and dessert options are equally delightful. The horchata is a must-try, perfectly balancing sweetness and spice. And don't even get me started on the churros, they're the ideal way to end a meal, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and generously dusted with cinnamon sugar. The consistency of excellence in both food and service has made this spot my go-to for Mexican takeout. If you're a fan of authentic flavors and a diverse menu, this place deserves every bit of its...
