This is the most unbelievable (and I mean that in a bad way) experience I have ever had at a dentist office. I had one appointment with KOP Family Dental and I learned everything I needed to know and to find a new dentist ASAP. First of all, I scheduled months in advance for my allowed one of the two times a year my dental insurance covers routine appointments, and being new to the area and this office, I booked a new patient appointment with this office. I received multiple confirmations of the appointment prior and once I get to the appointment they do the examine and X-rays and go "you're all set!" Seeing as how my teeth had yet to be cleaned, I asked about the cleaning and they said since I was a new patient, a cleaning appointment had to be set up at a different time. Well that was news to me that day! No one informed me of this "routine" way of new patient appointments at dental offices. Since then I have asked multiple dental professionals in this area and others if that is usual, they were confused and some even appalled on my behalf. Anyway, I said calmly that no one told me this until now, and I made the appointment to get my routine cleaning. I must have had a scary look on my face because they were able to squeeze in my cleaning. I know they were just trying to charge my insurance for two separate visits, let's be real. Fast forward to late summer/early fall, I realized a month or two in advance of my next routine appointment with this office that I needed to reschedule due to a work conflict. The best they could do was put me on a waitlist but there were allegedly no routine appointments available through the end of 2025. Whatever, fine. So I found another local dental office who accepts my insurance and was accepting new patients. A few days before, my new dentist (not KOP Family Dental) requested I reach out to KOP Family Dental to have them send my full set of X-rays to them ahead of my appointment because my insurance would not cover more X-rays during the calendar year. Makes sense. When I get to my actually well-trained and competent dental appointment at the new place a few days later, my new dentist and hygienist inform me that they can't use the X-rays from KOP Family Dental because their office sent screenshots of my full set of X-rays and NOT THE ACTUAL X-rays. Screenshots... screenshots of X-rays... which um spoiler alert a dental professional cannot utilize AT ALL. Astonishing. This was literally the most frustrating dental office experience of my life and I am glad I saw the writing on the wall before returning HERE for a second time. Clearly so incompetent and unprofessional! This is cliché but it needs to be said: if I could give your business 0 stars, I would.

Read moreI went here for two cleaning/exams and each experience was subpar. Although the dental hygienists were thorough and did a good job, the dentist did not seem to care about my needs as a patient. The first time I met her she only talked about my teeth for a few seconds and left. Had nothing good to say about my brushing/flossing habits like my other dentists have said. And also didn't ask if I had any questions. So when I asked her a question as she was trying to leave, she seemed annoyed that I had something to ask. I figured I caught her on a busy day and next time would be better. The second time was even more rushed. She didn't bother to tell me if I had any cavities or not, just wanted to tell me how worn down my teeth are and that I need a night guard. Yes, my teeth are worn down, but not for the reasons she assumed. A very common cause of worn teeth is grinding and clenching (bruxism) and wearing a custom night guard is designed to help prevent this. However in my case, my worn down teeth were caused by a very acidic diet, including regularly sucking on lemons, and incorrectly brushing my teeth too hard when I was younger. Since learning how bad these habits were, I stopped doing them nearly 20 years ago. But of course the damage was done and the tooth abrasion is permanent. Anyway, none of that was discussed because she didn't want to hear any of it; just wanted to sell me a night guard and get out of there. Felt like just another number, not an...
Read moreI've given them the benefit of the doubt but I've come to realize that you will only have a stellar experience if you're the 'ideal' patient. If you can't easily began expensive procedures, or require any level of understanding of your personal circumstance, you won't walk away feeling like a valued patient. When I was a new patient, I was met with much enthusiasm and felt very welcomed. So much so, that I referred loved ones who ultimately became patients themselves. Over time, after costly recommended procedures, I had to vocalize that it just isn't possible for me to do so right now. There was no compassion or understanding met with my honesty, just disregard and further questioning about when I plan to get it done. This has now transitioned to being me being met coldly and ultimately dreading my appointments. This last encounter the dentist greeted me with a dry "hey", took a quick glance at my mouth, gave me a referral and swiftly walked out. As someone who works in healthcare I couldn't imagine making a patient feel this way, regardless of their circumstance. It's disheartening and unfortunate, but the reality is that I must seek services elsewhere. The hygienist have always been kind and understanding, I appreciate the treatment I've received from them during my visits. Patient rapport should always lack judgement, and supersede $$$. This has not been the case here, it is instead...
