Kohl's — Local services in Valparaiso

At the Sephora inside Kohl's in Valparaiso, IN., I was helped a lot by Maria B.. I called the store and opted to talk to an Associate Makeup Consultant in Sephora, which I was greeted by Maria, who remembered me from visiting inside the store a week prior. On the phone this evening, I asked Maria if there were any current promotions/sales on Sephora brands they carry. She kindly told me about the current sale for 7/7 and she also found out a few makeup lines that had a sale on their foundation which I was particularly shopping for. I told her I'd try to be there before closing to shop. I made it in the store with about 15 mins to spare before they closed at 8 p.m.. I found Maria and told her who I was and she had been helping me over the phone. She went around the makeup side of Sephora, showing me the deals because I was looking for a good sale (on a foundation) as I am on a tight budget. She showed me the Estee Lauder foundation sale, then the Fenty one, then the Kat Von D, and lastly the makeup line that has been very popular (I'm forgetting it, but it has "One" in the name. It's a BB Cream foundation with shiney red on the tube). We matched my skin with the display sample of BB Cream but they were out of it to purchase of fresh one. Maria looked really hard to find me one to buy. Her customer service was really appreciated tonight. She gave me her honest and best opinion on the color matching of my skin. Not only that, she was so nice and patient with me. Her co-worker (blondish hair) seemed friendly also! They did not at all make me feel bad for being such a last minute shopper. I purchased 2 foundations tonight in this store and going to pick up the other one I tried on but was out of stock, at the Kohls Sephora in Portage, IN. tomorrow. I know great customer service when I see it and experience it as a customer, so Maria B. deserves this acknowledgment no doubt. ...

Kohl's is great. It was very hot out so the 1st thing I noticed was how nice and cool it was inside. This Kohl's is so clean, I felt like I needed to take my shoes off to walk on their floor.

I went there for one specific thing, As I was walking through the main aisle, I was greeted by an associate who was very friendly and personally walked me over to what I was looking for. They had it cheaper than anywhere else. They also gave me 15% off and "Kohl's Cash" which essentially means FREE STUFF :)

This sort of shopping is usually not my cup of tea but i understand now why the parking lot is always full. It even smells good in there.

This place is nice, easy to get to, plenty of parking including spots to sit and wait for them to bring out your online orders and they even have electric car charging stations that are free.

It is VERY clean, well organized and well staffed with very friendly, professional and competent associates. They have made social distancing easy with the layout and have plexi glass partitions.

They were busy when I was there, which was for a short time but I noticed 2 cashier's spraying, wiping down and cleaning thier stations. 2 thumbs up to that!!

What would I change? Nothing. What would I suggest adding? Alongside the car charging stations, please install some unleaded fuel filling stations that are free like the electric car stations. But seriously, I am not picky, snooty or impatient so it isn't hard to get a good review from me but this Kohl's gets a...

We spent the majority of our time wondering why there were no associates in sight to assist, and ended up walking into the back stock room of the shoe section to check for extras in the right size, after 35 minutes of trying to find someone anywhere near us. We finally decided to settle on the closest we could get to what we were looking, only to be told they didn't qualify for the 15% off coupon we had. This was after we waited in line for 15 minutes until someone finally responded to several attempts to get more cashiers to help the only one that was there. Totally understaffed and we received no apology or reason as to why we could not be helped, nor for having to wait so long for a cashier. I also decide to pass up 2 pairs of clearance shoes that I had intended on trying to buy because I received no help and couldn't find the clearance price on any of that style.
