I understand they "have" to profit. They're buying, for the most part, MONEY. Currency. I'm aware gold and silver prices fluctuate. But say someone goes to the US Mint and buys (or sees one they already own) a silver proof set for $219. But then 6 months later they have an emergency and need cash. They could theoretically sell the set for $125-$149 on eBay (that's what they were going for). But they need the cash sooner. So they go to the friendly {ahem} neighborhood coin store. As is routine, they get bent over with an insulting offer of $50 from the owner, knowing the person will accept because, probably - they REALLY need money. So they're paying the customer LESS THAN 25% of its actual value - for silver/currency worth way more than $50. They'll probably tag it at 3x that to sell it with a toothy grin, advertising it as a "killer deal." It's not necessarily dishonesty, but definitely taking advantage of people who are paying customers in a crunch. Unfortunately, it's the closest place (and most knowledgeable, for better or worse) around that buys the sets. I'm all about capitalism, but this place is a disgusting side of it. Worse than a dishonest pawn shop (and I love most pawn shops). And after this practice happens to you a couple times...it's very difficult to be friendly with them when walking into the shop. And don't even get me started on the so-called "trading card" part of the shop..."Joe's." It amazes me either part has been in business...
Read moreThis business was great but after leaving I sat down on an outside bench in front of another store in the same strip outlet to map out my next destination a woman came up to me and told me I had been there for over 2 hours (I sat on the public bench for less than 30 min after completing business at the coin shop) and that it was "time for me to leave". She refused to identify herself other than to say she was the strip outlet owner. She then walked away and started going jnto each of the 4 or so businesses several times. I was concerned that she might be mentally ill and need help but I confirmed with the coin shop that she was indeed the owner although they also said they did not know her name (even though they are here tenants?). I went to leave and realized my battery was dead (left an interior light on) so I had to call triple AAA to come rescue me. I spent 3 nerve wracked hours across the street waiting for their arrival as I did not feel comfortable remaining where I was asked to leave. She even came across to talk to the businesses across the street where I was peacefully waiting for AAA outside so I will be avoiding this entire area in the future, I have no...
Read moreI have gone in crossroads 2 times. I intended to purchase items and had heard that this place might have a nice selection. They do have alot of nice items but I could not get service. The 1st time I went in there were only 2 workers and several people looking around the store. I waited around for what seemed like forever until one of the guys finally asked if I needed help. I started to say what I was looking for but he cut me off and said kind of rudely " if you figure out what you want to let him know"I left. I went there again today to buy. I walked into the store and there were a bunch of people behind the counter. They were not helping people. They were talking about different kinds of hot sauces. Totally ignored me as I walked around the store. I got no help so I headed to the door. I was on the sidewalk and the door was closing behind me when I heard one of them yell out. "Can I help you? Not friendly people. I was hoping that this would be one of my...
