Loomcraft Fabric Outlet — Local services in Vernon Hills

I've been going to Loomcraft for over 20 years. I have used their upholstery service many tines and used their fabrics on more projects than I can count. I went in today and needed assistance. One person was at the register area on her cell phone googling or texting and the other person that I asked for help, Jeanine, was so rude and had zero customer service skills. I had found a remnant that I liked and asked her if she knew if they had anything similar to the remnant. She kept repeating herself that the remnant I had was a remnant! That is why I asked her for help!!! She brought me over to the yellow section of fabric and told me to look here. I told her I needed help selecting a fabric and she actually said "this is an outlet & this is where the yellow fabric is, I don't know what we have" , I honestly could not believe the rudeness and the effort she was making in "not" helping me. After a few minutes of this, I just shook my head and said I will come back another day. I won't give up on Loomcraft after I had twenty great years of shopping with them but I hope they get their customer service in check. Jeanine should not be working with the public. This store has a good selection of fabrics, though some where quite dirty or had unexpected damages/snags, but this is not uncommon with fabric warehouses. Just inspect carefully before you buy! $15 a yard for 118' voile is a little ridiculous, especially considering the piece I received is quite possibly the worst cutting job I have seen in a decade of being a professional seamstress. My yardage was measured to the farthest edge and so what I got is too short on one side to use; given this stores strict no returns policy I wish they would take more care when cutting. Worth a trip to the store but absolutely make sure to inspect what you're taking home carefully before you leave because the employees...

Great experience and a fantastic place to shop! Super friendly staff and a very organized store. The bolts of fabric are sorted out by color, and a lot of choices within each color. I brought in a paint sample to find a matching fabric and had narrowed it down to 3 choices. I asked one of the employees - Anita - if she would help me in deciding the best choice for my needs. She actually suggested something in one of the sample books, which meant it needed to be ordered, and I completely agreed with her - it was a perfect match to the color I was searching for.
