My opinion of this place has gone down overtime, but today was worth writing a review. I understand that there are both fantastic as well as outright bad employees at every place of business. After finding most of the items that my girlfriend and wanted to purchase, one of the items was out of stock, but my girlfriend was still interested in purchasing the shoes through the in-store online checkout keyosk. At the front desk we were told that because out items exceeded $150 with the online purchase we would be able to get Kohl's cash with our two separate transactions (in store and online) but we would have to go to the service desk to get the Kohl's cash we had earned.
When we got to the service desk the woman was extremely rude and unhelpful. We were then instructed that we could not get the Kohl's cash because one of the items has been purchased online, and although I thought about asking for a manager, spending another 20 minutes in this madhouse to get $10 in Kohl's cash seemed hardly worth my time. I have worked in customer service for many years, and I believe you don't get repeat customers by talking down and belittling the customers that you are employed to serve, especially when you are working behind the customer service desk. I was tempted to ask for this associates name, and fortunately for her the name tag she was wearing was flipped in the incorrect direction to where no customer could see her name badge.
On another note, there was an office that was being painted next to the Customer Service Desk and I found it a little troubling that an associate was loudly berating the two men who were hired to paint with the door wide open. I understand that these two men had a job to do, but what the associate was saying to these men was extremely aggressive and appeared way out of line in regards to how anybody should treat the people they employ. I didn't hear the full story of what had gone on, but something about a sandwich and how they were not working fast enough, which I find ironic as the woman screaming her head off was not in the business of painting. At the very least she might want to consider closing the door before she scolds another person so as not to gain attention from the line of customers waiting to access the customer service desk. I might expect this on Black Friday in a bigger city, but the character these two employees demonstrated seemed outright shameful.
The General Store: The store is often a madhouse, and although there is a wide assortment of product much of what they sell although cheap is also cheap in my opinion cheap in quality. You can definitely catch a good value if the clothing is marked down 80%, and I have no issue spending extra on the right quality item, but nothing in the store seems worth spending much anything over clearance price.
In conclusion I don't think shopping here is really worth my time. I may come in if my girlfriend really knows what she wants and I am following, however otherwise I will henceforth give my business to a more respectable...
Read moreVery frustrated with my experience. I was finding clothing for my partner for his best friends funeral this weekend. I needed to exchange one blazer for the next size up, and looked for over 45 minutes and couldn't find the next size up but found one two sizes up. After I finally found an employee they looked it up and the store had 2 in stock so I went back up to the front. They had already taken the one I brought in to exchange to the back so they had to go get it. The older lady cashier was very rude and unfriendly and kept telling me that they needed it to do an exchange or return (I very much understand that as I work retail) but I repeatedly told her that I didn't have the right size, the one I found was too big so that I wasn't doing an exchange or return yet so that they could wait until everything was ready. Then she ended up walking away from me and another cashier helped me and the cashier who went to get the original blazer I brought in told me that she couldn't find the size I was looking for. In stock issues happen but a lot of frustration would have been spared if the older cashier clarified that the one who went to get the original was ALSO looking for the other size instead of just telling me that she needed the original to do a return even though I kept asking her for help finding the right size. So I ended up having to get the suit jacket that was two sizes up, which probably won't fit and then I'll have to come back tomorrow to see if the right size came in or try and find an entirely different style the day before we need to drive down to Georgia...
Read moreFirst time returning an Amazon product through Kohlâs. Signage at front of store, including arrows, led me to the return/checkout counters. Long line.
When I finally got to the head of the line the next available cashier turned and left her station without so much as acknowledging me, or putting up a sign to say lane closed.. Uncaring/rude in my opinion.
Waited for the next open cashier who very pleasantly told me I was in the wrong area if I wanted to return through Amazon. She directed me to the back of the store. Being unfamiliar with this procedure I went to the far back corner of the store and waited in another line. Once again I made it to the front of the line where I was told I was in the wrong section. And I should go over in the bedding section and look for a small Amazon sign hanging from the ceiling.
Found it. Expressed my frustration. And was told by the sales person that their signage is fine and all I had to do was follow it. I gave Kohlâs a rating of one star based on their poor signage/position of arrows. And a rather uninterested/defensive Company line on customer feedback. I had gone to the store to shop their sales, I hadnât been here since before Covid,. I did not shop today and since I got along without Kohlâs These last couple years I donât see any reason...
