The Mercer Apartments — Local services in Walnut Creek

Let's start with the 5 stars which all go to the staff ... Gerry, Julian, Ismail, Roberto ... all great ... all helpful when you need a helping hand. I hope Promethius is taking care of you!!! Also, location, location, location!!! Quietly tucked away, but living close to BART opens the whole bay area to you. The sunday farmer's market on Locust is so convenient. Having downtown within minutes is awesome fun so enjoy all that.

Having said that, while the Mercer is the coolest building in downtown WC, with great kitchens and spacious units compared to others in the area, I found the 1.5+ year of ongoing construction on the hot tub, and then the pool to be super aggravating. It felt like someone was always breaking something down (elliptical machine, people running into the parking garage gate, elevators failing, fire alarms going off or being tested at 7 am on a weekend morning, etc.) that after about a year and a half we were tired of condo living. All this over time built up and then it felt like what are we paying all this money for??? We decided not renew our lease, which wasn't the plan but that's how life works sometimes. Hopefully by the time you "prospective new tenant" are reading this ... the hot tub and pool and gym equipment and garage door will...

Mercer Apartments is an absolutely lovely complex of apartments in downtown Walnut Creek. As their website suggests, the apartments themselves are on the “luxurious” side; with concierge, a great pool, hot tub, gym, well-manicured landscaping, and a “club room” for tenants’/owners’ social gatherings. This club room includes a piano which is pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately, however, the piano is not equally pleasing to the ear because it is not maintained adequately. Several of its keys are not functioning properly, and although this has been stated many times to the appropriate channels over the course of five months, nothing is done about it. This lack of responsiveness from management, quite frankly, is very surprising given the image that Mercer seeks to cultivate is one of luxurious living. It is this blatant lack of responsiveness that warrants a rating of 2 stars. Simply put, one certainly expects luxurious living to be associated with a responsive management/administration, and one that remedies within a reasonable time those facilities that would make Mercer positively unique in the Walnut Creek area. I hope that in the future there would be reason to...

i live in here for 8 months. Very sad when i got to leave this nice place. The service and the managing is very good. Gerry the manager is very nice and helpful. They also have a nice pool and gym. I have the feeling that i live in the safetest place in California (i'm from Texas). After all thank you all for helping us to move in and move out....
