Went on Wednesday to pick up a chair and my mother saw a bed set they had just gotten in she talked to one of the managers about it and he said he'd give her the set for $300. She called on Thursday to ask them to hold it til Friday because we'd need a uhaul to move it and they abliged. Got there on Friday with uhaul and money in hand only to see all the individual stickers they had on everything was off and replaced with a sign saying the set was now $800. Talked to the manager on shift she said the original price with all the stickers would have been $475, she even called the man who set the original $300 and he said he didn't remember making a deal like that. Even one of the other worker that was there remembered that there were individual stickers on everything and said it was messed up that they took them off. All in all very disappointed with this whole situation love supporting businesses like this but their prices are getting ridiculous.
Response to comment: The bed and everything were already on the floor and were priced. We didn't go and seek inventory that wasn't ready. There was no deal rejection we didn't offer a price the manager did and said it would be there when we were ready. And when we were ready there was a $500 increase and a loss for the uhaul we used to come get the set. At the end of the day it's all said and done with just wanted your future customers to be wary and know they need to take a deal on the spot because this could happen to them. God bless and thanks for your work in...
Read moreThe man at the front desk (could be the manager) definitely lacks training; he has an attitude and very low tolerance for people. I bought some paint at this place to do a few projects and I remember him specifically saying that “you could bring them to any paint place to get them tinted”; however, that is a total lie. I didn’t realize all the paint had no color; when i tried to use them they were clear liquid. I never bought paint like this before and I thought they had some white at the very least and maybe needed tint if you wanted say a “ blue” I guess they will say anything to sell their stuff! I ended up calling the store to let them know that I had all these paint I purchased from them which cannot be used, but the guy had an attitude and almost hung up on me. He was rushing off the phone and offered no reasonable explanation. One example would have been to maybe allow me to exchange one or two for a white. The point is customer support and understanding doesn’t exist here; they take your used items and treat you horribly if you ever want assistance with the junk they sell. Their prices are just expensive and unreasonable for no reason. Most furniture items are dirty and should be in the landfill, yet they are on the floor and priced ridiculously. You have unreasonable people running the store and unreasonable people are just unreasonable. Please do better because without your customers your...
Read moreMy experience with HFH-Waterford started out great but unfortunately it didn’t end that way. I emailed them with pictures of 3 pieces of furniture I wanted to donate. The manager Kim Frenzel emailed me back to say they would accept 2 of them. An employee called me a few days later and we scheduled a furniture pick up. **During the phone call to schedule the pick up they asked me to make a cash donation to their organization — in addition to the $1,000 furniture donation I was already making. **2 hours later I received a phone call from a different employee saying that they’ve changed their minds and don’t want one of the 2 pieces. When I replied that their manager had emailed me to say that she was accepting both pieces, and that another employee had already called me to schedule the pick up, the employee responded “There’s been a mix up.” When I expressed frustration at their change of mind, SHE HUNG UP ON ME! FYI I have dealt with HFH-Hartford numerous times and they have always been courteous and professional. This organization was...
