Academy, Weâve lived here for 8 years. We live pretty close to you. It has been a good 8 years. We are a family that loves adventure and thereâs 7 of us. So we shop at academy all the team. Almost every pair of shoes and piece of sports equipment weâve bought since we moved to Waxahachie has been from you and itâs been great! Until now. In The last few months you have changed your checkout process. You went from a free and open set of registers that were easy to navigate to a miserably long single line that dumps people into an open floor with 8 registers manned by 3 employees. This might be more efficient for you, but it is an AWFUL experience for us, the customers. Today my wife went to return a pair of shoes and after waiting (ignored) at the âcustomer serviceâ register for 10 minutes had to chase down an employee and ask for help. Guess what they told her? âYouâll have to get in line and wait to talk to someone at a register.â Inconceivable. The line was snaked all the past the entrance to the checkout space. It was worse than trying to get on a ride at DisneyWorld. But you know whatâs worse? Coming here to Google and seeing how many people have complained. And within days they get a boilerplate nonsense response from you that looks like it was either posted by a 3rd party marketing company or AI (not that thereâs a wide gap between those these days). I predict that within 5 days I too will receive a response from a robot telling me my concerns are taken seriously and will be communicated with the team. But thatâs worse, Academy, than just ignoring us. Because it is a promise that goes unfulfilled. No actual change has taken place! Youâre losing customers because of this! I tried to call the store, btw, so I could tell you all this in person, but 3 times in a row I say here listening to a ringing line for exactly 5 minutes then the line disconnected. Thatâs what brought me to Google. Seriously, fix this, or youâre going to lose another loyal household...
Read moretoday 8/18 After 9 days of having delivered my weapon to send it to the manufacturer, I contacted the manufacturer to find out how the process was going and he replied that they do not have my weapon in possession for any repair, which takes me to the previous day when I visited the store and I noticed that the same employee was very disconcerted when I asked her how the process of my weapon was, her answer was that the store had not received any weapon in the last 9 days and then she changed the theory and told me to call the manufacturer and ask... but that was the employee's mistake because the manufacturer tells me that if they had carried out the process as it should be, I would already have my pistol back....I will definitely change stores to buy other items that I need.................................. This is a new review on the day of 8/21 which is today... I'll tell you how it went today, because I return to the store today Sunday 8/21 at 9:04am in the morning and I ask the clerk what I was in the armory at the time that what day was my pistol sent to the manufacturer and I find myself surprised that the pistol is still in the store, after 11 days of having left it to be sent to the manufacturer,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if you are going to buy a Weapon and it has a manufacturing defect in the future, I recommend that you contact the manufacturer so that they can send you the return sticker and you can take it UPS OR FEDEX what the method is to return it, because if you return it to the store they will not take it as seriously as you would in person.................................................... 8/21 I finally got back to the store today at 11:45 am and picked up my gun to send it straight to the manufactory without waiting...
Read moreAlways a great time when we go to Academy in waxahachie. My main reason is for range ammo purchases and to peruse the firearms in stock. When the Echelon was first released to the public the popularity was through the roof. I had gone in to purchase some rounds for a fun day at the range and on a whim I asked the girl at the gun counter if they happened to have an Echelon and she said she doubted it but would go take a look for me in the back, she also said these were extremely popular and sold out in minutes everytime they got a few in. She came back out after about 30 minutes or so and said she didn't see any but happened to find the last one tucked away where it shouldn't have been out of luck onthe way back to the counter. I bought it right away and the funniest part of all this was the guy that was working back there with her saw me purchasing this pistol and he was not happy. He came over and pulled her aside where he thought I couldn't hear their conversation and told this nice girl that was his pistol and he was going to buy it at the end of his shift that day. She smiled and said "would you like to go tell that gentleman over there that this is "your" gun?" I looked up at this guy and in a loud tone of voice I said , " I wasn't aware that you policy allows for hiding a firearm to be purchased after shift." He just walked away face red as my pickup truck. Her and I and my wife had a hell of a laugh, this guy was a duck, always has been when I've been in there looking at firearms. Had a nice talk woth the manager as he walked the pistol to the door for me. Love this store! Get out to the range and train, have fun safely, teach your children how to defend themselves with a firearm should the necessity present itself one...
