On Friday January 17, 2014, around 3:40-4:15ish p.m., myself along with my children came to this store to purchase cowboy boots. Immediately upon entering the store we were greeted by a few nice young ladies who gave us a warm welcome to Cavenders from the cash register area. We then went to the mens boot section to find the boots that I had been eargerly waiting until after the holidays to purchase. I found the boots in my size then stopped by the jeans section to find some jeans to go with my boots. On this vist I had planned on spending $600.00 on boots and clothes for me and my children. During this time period I did not receive any request for assistance from any employees but instead the employees were monitoring me as if they were excepting me to steal something. While in the jeans section there was an older female employee standing in the section who looked directly at me then looked away without saying a word. This lady remained in this section watching me and my children without offering to assist me in the search for jeans in my size. However as new customers entered into the jeans section she warmly asked them if they needed any assistance and then assist them in finding what they needed. I continued to search for jeans and noticed that this woman was monitoring me as I searched. When I looked at her and smiled she gave me a very stern look and then turned her back to me once again without speaking. I began to feel very uncomfortable so I abandonded my search for jeans and headed to the cash register to make my purchase. As I approached the register an older gentleman who was an employee stated, Is everything alright I was watching around the store I lost sight of you and wanted to know if you found what you were looking for. At that time he noticed that I had a pair of boots in my hand and stated Ohh you have boots he told me to have a nice day and walked away. I paid for my boots($281.00) left store and felt very upset because of the lack of professionalism, being treated like a criminal, and extreme LACK of customer service that I received while in the store as I observed other people in the store receiving great customer service unwarranted. At this point as I was driving away I was no longer excited about the purchase of my boots. Immediately returned to the store to bring them back. Upon re-entering the store I notified the cashier that I was returning the boots. The cashier notifed a manager (who happen to be the lady from the jeans section) to perform the return. The manager inspected the boots, performed the return without asking my one question nor looking at me. As she opened the cash register I informed her that she could return the money to my debit card, and presented my debit card to her. She continued to count money from the cash register and hand the money to me while stating, "It easier just to give you the cash". She then had me sign my name on a receipt , gave me receipt, and said bye and walked away. In this day and age criminalizing, poor customer service, and failing to extend professionalism to all who enter your establishment is completely unacceptable.

Read moreI went here today to shop for some FRC jeans and steel toe boots for work. I have to admit, that as an Asian, I had my hesitations to the service I'd get from reading most of the reviews about this store and location. I've been to the Pasadena location about a couple months back and thought the staff there was friendly, so I wanted to give this location a fair shot, and I was also headed to Galveston today anyways. I was not greeted when I walked in, but the store had about 15 customers, so I figured they were busy. I found the FRC work clothes area and found the jeans in the sizes I wanted; now I wanted to try out the two sizes to see which ones fit best. I informed the staff at the counter that I was going to try them on, and if it was ok? They said yes. I tried them on, found the size I wanted, and walked back to put the other one back and get another of my size. From there a lady name "Shelly" inquired if I liked them, and from there on, she helped me get another pair and find the right pair of steel toe boots, in the size that I wanted. Another note: I requested size 11, and was walking around in them for a few minutes to make sure (you don't want boots too loose, working and walking for hours) they were not too loose. She came back and I requested a size 10.5; as I took off my 11, she saw that, and said, "oh yeah, those came off too easy; they shouldn't come off that easy." So she confirmed my suspicions, and I'm glad she did. I tried the 10.5 and they fit better. I'll shop here again. I know that not everyone gets the same experience with the same business or even the same people, and that maybe when I asked them if I could try on the jeans, they decided that I was worth helping to the end, but whatever the case, my experience there today was great. I bought two pair of FRC jeans, a new pair of steel toe boots and a new...
Read moreWe were highly disappointed tonight during our visit to this store. Boots were put everywhere. It's literally the most disorganized boot store I've ever been to. It was frustrating trying to find any boot in the size we needed because the boots were put where the display was or even close by. All styles are just mixed together everywhere. The employees were absolutely zero help. Nick, he was falling all over the place, tripping, stumbling. He had no idea where anything was at either. The other guy working tonight, I had no idea he even worked there. He was sitting in the back on a bench with a girl the entire hour and half we were there. I thought he was looking at boots with the girl. He came up to us one time, and towards the end, asked us if we needed help. Umm, are you seriously an employee here? He was sitting talking to that girl for over an hour, not once did he say anything up until that point. After we said no, he went back to the bench to hang out with the girl. I just felt very overwhelmed by the unorganized boots and lack of professionalism by the employees working tonight. The girl at the counter gave us a paper with two numbers on for stores that might have the boot we found that we liked, but couldn't find it in the store. I'm not sure where store 17 is, but that's all the info she gave us. Nick, who gave us the paper with the number 17, said she could've written down an address or more information. Umm, ya think?! Yeah, this store needs some organization and employees that aren't just there hanging out. I'm not sure what I just witnessed tonight, but I do know I won't be back. I'm hoping that when I find store 17, they will be more organized & have...
