I am not the kind of person who writes reviews but I have had the most aggravating experience of my life when it comes to buying a new console. Going to a GameStop even as a small child used to be like waking up on Christmas morning. I’ve been waiting on the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 for years and with my recent bonus the timing couldn’t have been better. The first GameStop location I had arrived to, the switch was sold out. Understandable. I called ahead to this location and I was told that they had ONE. I grabbed my Switch OLED and high tailed it to the store. Upon arrival, I was told that I would be receiving $66 dollars for it. For context, I received double this amount for my Seitch Lite when I bought my OLED. This was absurd, and I ended up changing my mind and left. Out of curiosity, I stopped at Game Over down the street and they offered me 80 dollars, CASH, and $120 in store credit, so double what a corporate entity like GameStop would offer. I went home and after digging for the joycon controller housing thing that the employee told me I should bring if I did change my mind, I went back to this store. Upon arrival, I was told that I was missing the JOYCON STRAPS, a piece of plastic and a string, and therefore they absolutely could not take the system that I am already being ripped off of when it comes to the value. At this point I have already made 3 trips to a game stop and I was sick and tired of going to a GameStop so I just paid for the switch 2 and trashed my power up rewards pro card out the door that I have had for over half my life. I hope you enjoy the $500 dollars GameStop, as I will not be spending another RED CENT at another one of your stores EVER AGAIN. I wouldn’t even piss on a store if it was on fire. I’ve been a customer for my whole life and I swear I will never step foot into another location for the rest of...
Read moreI came in looking for a Nintendo Switch bundle as I needed a couple extras for a raffle event I was holding about a week ago. When asking one of the Game Advisors if they had a Switch Bundle for Pokken or even Pre-order bundles for Hey You Eevee he instead looked up the game instead of a bundle. No harm, I responded saying I wanted a bundle. The other Game Advisor starts to spit chatter our way and starts to rapidly get increasingly annoyed with me as he was talking, as if I was the 900th person to ask for it that day. “My apologies. Mr, Dude. I didnt know it was a black friday exclusive.” What he also failed to do was ask if I wanted to buy a Switch with the game separately. He was already so over the top annoyed with my simple request that he was completely done with me. So I excused myself from the Game Advisor I originally I asked to help me, stepped out of his Gamestop, drove to Fry’s and bought 2 Nintendo Switches and 2 copies of Pokken. Then went to the League City Gamestop and bought my own Switch with my powerup rewards along with 2 games and pre ordered 2 copies of Hey You Eevee and Pikachu. This Gamestop doesn’t exist...
Read moreWe have stopped by this GameStop before to pick up pokemon cards and while before hand we had no issues today was terrible. I never write reviews on places because I know mistakes happen but no mistake was made just straight up bully behavior. We waited a bit outside to get our hands on the restock of the surging sparks a long with many others and as soon as the first guy lined up, the cashier, MATT , started AGGRESSIVLY promoting the membership but very negatively and in fact insulted everyone in the store for not signing up and there’s no point if we aren’t signed up. Along with it Matt asked the guy about 10-15 times when he clearly wasnt interested and comes not too often. I get it’s his job, but going to the extent to insult the customers and making them think it’s a failure to not get a membership is disgusting. I love GameStop and love everyone else I met here, today this was awful especially after waiting outside just to get...
