Just another example of how lazy employees & "extra fees" can cause a business to go under. Great food, but too many irritations to make me NOT want to choose one of the other HUNDREDS of places nearby to eat.
Example 1: they have this really good salad dressing / sauce called "Ancho sauce". It was out. No biggy, I just chose to get some Queso sauce instead. (Gotta have some sauce on my burrito). "That will be a dollar extra", she says. Again, no worries, but if the roles were reversed & a customer asked me for something we were out of, I'd probably have thrown in the Queso for free. That's just how I was taught to do business / take care of the customer / person who's part of my getting paid.
Example 2: Since we they were out of Ancho sauce, I figured I'd add some sour cream. "That's another dollar extra". Sweet! How about we charge a buck extra for every single thing that goes into the burrito lol? Again, I would have included the sour cream & Queso, beings we were out of the Ancho sauce.
Example 3: I go to get a fork since my burrito doesn't stay together. No forks. Sweet! I go to ask for one, and I see another customer asking for a few forks as well. It takes a few minutes for the employee to wander back & get a few forks. Wouldn't you think at that point if the forks are out, they would see that as a red flag and go refill the forks for the customers on a Saturday night? Nah, just grab a few forks and give it to the customers who ask for them. Too much work to have to go refill them.
Example 4: the same lady who was asking for the forks then asks for a few limes. Yes those are completely empty as well.
Example 5: I go to get some more barbecue sauce, and that's running low too. Not empty (like the Ancho sauce, forks, and limes), but I had to pump for awhile to fill up the little cup.
All in all, the food is good and the employees that I spoke with were nice. They just didn't really want to do a whole lot. And the extra money for Queso sauce & sour cream kind of rubs me the wrong way. It's like going to a hotel that's $200 / night, but by the time you check out, your bill is $250 due to the extra fees. How about just call it $250 from the get-go to avoid surprising the customer with all the B.S fees? Yes, there are worse things in the world to worry about, but then again, there are several other great food options nearby (where u have employees who stay on top of their job, and where u don't have the extra fees to complete a...
Read moreWalked in 30 minutes to close to snag a quick bite. First thing I saw walking in was a huge dead roach on the ground. But whatever, it’s Houston. Then they are out of chicken and say it’ll take 5 minutes to make so we decide to wait. We understood that we were walking in close to closing and we were being patient. Then right before we checked out (and paid full price) it got bumped up to 15 minutes. Fine. But we ended up waiting 30 minutes for the chicken. Meanwhile, all the employees were vaping in the back, but in plain view, which doesn’t seem like a healthy thing to do behind a counter. My brother went up to check once on his burrito about 15 minutes in and the manager, Lynda, gave him unnecessary attitude about it. The people that ordered behind us ate and left before we even got our food. Then once we finally got our burritos and sat down to eat, we could hear Lynda talking about us using profane language and saying rude things the whole time we were eating which was super uncomfortable. When we were practically finished with our burritos, she came out to explain that they had turned their grills off and made sure to point out that we had come in late and even tried to exaggerate the time despite the receipts showing it very clearly. I don’t think it is asking too much for them to be able to serve food 30 minutes before closing. She offered us a refund, which is appreciated, but the whole experience was kind of ruined at that point. Maybe an explanation while we waited would have helped? Or even just not having to hear her talking about us while eating would have been nice. It was just a lot of things that added up. The wait for the chicken was a little ridiculous but definitely not handled in a professional or courteous way by the manager at all. Your job is to make people happy and serve them food. Both of which she failed. I have never had a more awkward burrito eating experience. Will be sticking to chipotle from...
Read moreSecond time going to this location, and I swear it gets better every time. My first time here I didn’t know how it worked or how to order, but Keagan made it super easy, without making me feel like an idiot bc I didn’t know how it worked (can’t say the same for most dine in fast food places). Was barely in the door and a very bubbly girl (whose name I later found out was Ashton) made sure I heard her welcoming me in, with the best smile ever! Between her welcome and the atmosphere in general, I was almost excited to make my order - bc now I’m a pro ofc. There were a few people in front of me, and between Ashton and the other guy (I asked and his name is J) it was SO streamlined! They basically knew what the other was thinking and got everyone’s burritos done fast and…wait for it…correct! J took his time to make sure I got what I wanted, giving me info on meats and extra stuff I didn’t think about adding on my burrito. And on top of THAT!! - he asked me “is this perfect?” Wait what?! A food service employee CARED that it was exactly what I wanted??!!! It made an impression bc I’ve legit never had ANY food service employee CARE that I was happy with what I got.
I don’t think 💭 I’ve ever been somewhere like this where they ACTUALLY take the time to help you, while also laughing and (what it seemed like) having a good time while doing their job. Honestly - I used to go to Ch—— all the time, but they barely listened to you, and made it feel like you were making them go out of their way to help you. Not cool. I’m done with them, and will keep coming to this location for my healthy burrito cravings! One last thing - Keagan - who I found out was the General Manager - took the time to come to my table and make sure I was enjoying my meal! Who does that?!
If you’re looking for something different where you can ask questions and not feel like an idiot…go to the Freebirds on Bay Area. You’ll see what I’m...
