The Woods West Branch - Recreational Marijuana Dispensary — Local services in West Branch Township

I am in west branch for my grandmothers funeral, I am from the Metro Detroit area. I was not having a good day, and I stumbled upon The Woods- I called prior to my visit with a couple questions before my arrival- It is cash only- but there is an ATM on site you can use for a $3 charge which is normal for dispensaries. I went in and was greeted by a wonderful front desk associate with Blue in her hair, she was very kind to me on the phone and even kinder upon my arrival. When I went back my boyfriend and I were seen by someone named Andrew. He was extremely knowledgeable about the product, recommended quality product- and truthfully was very educated when it came to Cannabis and Terpenes. We got to talking and I told him I was in the industry and where I was from and why I was in town- he hooked me up with a discount. He noticed my boyfriend looking at their hats, and he gave us one. He then told me to go pick out a hat as well. I was having a very rough day, and Andrew truthfully made my day without even realizing it. I later learned he is a manager at this location- and judging off my interaction with him today rightfully so. Another associate even came over to join our conversation and he was also very kind :) I did not get his name. Customer service and interaction is a 10/10 As far as the selection goes- this location has a decent amount of product with a lot of quality brands. They had a lot of deals on various items as well. Also a very good selection of edibles. They have a point system that you can redeem on product that never expires :) this is also something to keep in mind if traveling. As far as location goes- it was easy to find, easy to park & easy to navigate. I also felt very safe there. They have their own parking lot that also has lighting. I will be stopping at The Woods west branch whenever I make my way up north. It is about 2 miles off of the highway- but an easy exit there and back.

I’ve been to a lot of dispensaries. The Woods isn’t bad but I was a bit disappointed, mostly in the layout of the store. The registers which are in 2’s are too close to each other. The monitors for them block your view of the budtender so the only place you can see them is in between the registers. For someone who is hard of hearing and needs to read lips while listening this is bad. They’re so close together I felt extremely uncomfortable trying to discuss what was available and was a little embarrassed asking them to repeat with strangers right next to you. You’re just about shoulder to shoulder. Then you have tall glass shelves to the side of them. It was like they tried to create a wall in between you and everything in the store. The digital menu on the wall was difficult to read due to the size of lettering. Even the person helping us had to walk over to it to see what was on it more than once. We bought a few different items to try. The quality was not disappointing. So far everything we have tried has met our expectations. They have 2 atm’s with a 3.00 fee which was pretty convenient. The budtender had good knowledge of products.

For weeks we watched as they cleared the land, built the foundation then the building. Excitement built up as they paved the parking lot. But felt like the bubble popped as we walked in. Big beautiful building and meh inside. At the end of the day, we will return again to see what they have, just not with as...

We were in the area and had always wanted to experience, “The Woods” since having learned of how close it is to us… It’s not in our town; yet a very short drive for such an awesome experience once we got there.

I was kindly greeted by Sam at the desk. She was very friendly and courteous! I provided her my ID and she quickly checked me in. I told her, this was my first time there and she welcomed me and quickly signed me up for an account and gave me access to the product room; where I was greeted by the sweet beautiful smell of flower and just behind the corner, Todd and with the same friendly enthusiasm; as Sam at the front (at this point that I’m learning is how everyone is at The Woods which is always a great feeling!)

We had window shopped a bit their shop via Weedmaps (humble brag!) and already had our 👀 set on a special of theirs, “Strawberry Diesel OG” which we were fortunate enough to snag their last zip! Todd also welcomed me by saying if I would be interested in a free pre-roll which I kindly welcomed! I learned later it was, “Meat Breath” by Sapphire Farm, I’ll be holding on to that for a celebratory J at some point here soon! :)

Overall, my experience was amazing and anytime we are in West Branch, we won’t be ending our trip before visiting The Woods on the way home to stock up on some goodies and have a great overall experience!!
