We absolutely adore our loft with Lofts at Gin Alley. It is a gorgeous unit, so spacious and our windows + high ceilings are to die for. Also, we have a laundry room all to ourselves, not a closet, a whole room. I love the boutique feel of the building and the rooftop is a dream. I think what really makes this place special is our property manager Adam Ferrari. He joined after we had been tenants for several months and although we didn't have a bad time with our other Prop Manager, we were instantly impressed with Adam. He is actually as cool as his name sounds or maybe even cooler. He is SO attentive, helpful, insightful, just everything you need from a property manager. His ability to go above and beyond is very comforting as tenants. There are some items that can be frustrating that happen in units from time to time but having someone who is not only empathetic but solutions orientated like Adam on your side makes those items much less frustrating. The bar for any prop manager I experience in the future is set so much higher now.
The reason for 1 star less is only because the units are lofts so noise transfer should be expected. You can hear through the walls and floors very easily so if you are noise sensitive this is likely not the place for you but if you aren't noise sensitive (my partner and I aren't) then these...
Read moreWe have lived at the Lofts at Gin Alley for a little over 2 years and have very much enjoyed our time here thus far. Obviously, the location is fantastic with some of the best restaurants in the city outside the door and only a short walk away from offices in the Loop. We love the character of the converted loft units (they are beautiful) and the finishes are quite nice, especially for a rental property. Our property manager (Adam) does a great job of informing residents of property news and events, as well as regularly checking in with us to make sure everything is going well. Maintenance has also been fantastic, with very quick response times (usually same day or maybe 1 day wait). Before we moved into our unit, we saw some reviews that commented on the noise. Noise leaking from one unit to another appears to be a characteristic of many timber loft spaces. I can’t speak for all of the units in the building, but the noise has not been a serious nuisance for us. But we appreciated the reviews that gave us a heads up so we wouldn’t be surprised once we moved in. Bottom line, the Lofts at Gin Alley is a great place...
Read moreMy husband and I lived at Gin Alley Lofts for one year and had the most amazing experience. I loved everything about 119 N Peoria. The only reason we moved out is because we had a child and I’d say the building is not as practical for life with an infant.
The reason for my 5 star review is because of the property manager, Adam Ferrari. To put it simply, Adam is WONDERFUL. He went and continues to go above and beyond for his tenants (and ex-tenants). I accidentally shipped some items to our Peoria address after moving, contacted Adam and received a response within minutes. NO BODY DOES THAT! I was so pleasantly surprised and grateful!!
I’ve lived in several buildings in Chicago and never received service like Adam provides. In fact, you expect service to be poor in complexes like these. Adam is the opposite, he is excellent. He is extremely kind, responsive, understanding, professional and always a JOY to talk with.
I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel like excellent service isn’t always acknowledged. I wanted to give him a shoutout because he deserves it! THANK YOU, ADAM, for making our experience...
