I have LOVED Parlor Pizza since forever, but tonight my experience was extremely unexpected. Our server, Madison, was such a sweetheart and was very attentive. However, her manager Chris was extremely rude and caused us to want to leave the restaurant immediately.
We live about 2 blocks away and we either come into Parlor or order out at least 4 times a week. We had the kale artichoke dip back in Jan/Feb and have since been OBSESSED. However, every time we have had it at this location, it has been inconsistent. We figured out that we just need to ask for "light garlic cream", as was suggested to us by a previous server. Since then, we have been LOVING it and always get the dip with two other entrees and rounds of drinks.
Tonight, we wanted to go out since we were both off of work. We went and ordered a new option that we loved (Falafel Burger) and the dip as we have always requested it. It came out being very creamy, and with our weak stomachs, we knew this would not be good. We asked to get it redone. Once it was, Chris came up to us and informed us that they "never stray from their recipe and this would never be accommodated in the future". I tried to explain to him that we are there multiple times a week, to which he interrupted me and said, "Well, I am the manager here and I have never seen you before." We simply said "Thanks for accommodating us," so he would leave the table with his rude demeanor.
I want to stress that this was Elyse and I's "PLACE". We have never been able to agree on a comfortable medium between our different roomie tastes in venues for drinks or lunch or just hanging out. We had found our go-to place and we have had so many great experiences there!
Chris single-handedly caused us to get the new dip packed up so we could leave.
I have worked in customer service and I could not fathom how this man had the audacity to speak to us this way. I am shocked that the Parlor group would have this man leading any team.
For Chris' reference, this is how the dip looked the FIRST time we got it and how it came the second time tonight. Sadly, we had to have our rounds of drinks at home after feeling unwelcome at the restaurant. I had great expectations to enjoy a fun lunch, but to my dismay, we were assigned a very rude waitress. (I thought ALLY’s attitude would change and become nicer later). Wrong.
We were seated by a friendly hostess. Shortly after, ALLY S, the waitress came by and said she'd be our server- curt, rude and unfriendly immediately.
While I was not happy with ALLY's service, I think the restaurant is a great venue! Fun atmosphere, good food, noisy friendly groups of conversations. Busy bar, great table sets of high tables and booths. The hostess and especially Manager was outstanding!
