My daughter and I went in today to the Fabric Center looking for fabric for a quilt that my son and his fiancĂŠ wanted for a wedding gift. From beginning to end this was a great experience!
The good: The selection of fabric was very good. It was easy to find fabric suitable for many projects.
The better: My son was very picky with the kind of look he wanted us to create. At one point my daughter and I were concerned we might need to go to a different store because there wasnât enough. Then store employee, Sherri, came to help. Her experience and expertise allowed her to help us to find a creative solution.
The best: Sherri was able to talk to my daughter and draw pictures explaining how to put the quilt together in king size with the fabric we had. She put us both at ease as she taught us both how to make it look the best. She was extremely knowledgeable and willing to help us figure it all out.
Giving this review the full 5 stars was very easy for me. My experience at Fabric Center was amazing. I would...
Read moreThey do have a lot of fabric, especially for crafting, but don't expect good customer service. I have been twice and won't be returning after being treated very poorly both times. The first time I was looking for a certain type of fabric and when I asked one of the employees she acted extremely put out and annoyed that I was asking her anything. They didn't have the fabric I needed and I left. The second time, I arrived shortly after the store opened and when I walked in (the door was unlocked) was told that they weren't open. I looked at my watch and said don't you open at 9:30? Again, the lady seemed extremely annoyed and said, "well you can just stay" but then sat and glared at me while I looked at fabric. I felt so uncomfortable that I left after just a few minutes, without buying anything. Maybe I just went on bad days, but I would rather go somewhere else after those experiences. Plus, the fabric is pretty pricey and you can get the same thing for a better price at Joann's, Hancocks or ...
Read moreI do not sew craft projects. I visited here with my niece, whom I have commissioned for a couple of sewing projects. Despite knowing next to nothing, I was very impressed. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. They were also more than willing to answer our many many questions. They even helped us figure out what a fabric a well loved blanket was made from. Which had been a lifetime mystery to me. I understood their method of organization of product, which really helped because I have a tendency to get overwhelmed in unfamiliar places, especially if I can't comprehend the organization method. They have reasonable prices and neat looking sales. My favorite was the minky couture "scrap" bin that was sold by the pound. I look forward to revisting with my niece as the sewing projects come...
