La Puente — Restaurant in West Jordan

I ordered the Bean/Cheese dip, the 2 Soft Tacos with Grilled Chicken, smothered with cheese and mild sauce. My mom ordered the 2 hard tacos with Shredded Beef and verse sauce.

Speed: 5/5 Had appetizer dip and main entree within 20 minutes but it was also not busy at all.

Customer Service: 5/5 Waitress was super nice even though she was still training!

Food Flavor: 5/5 Best bean and cheese dip EVER. Sooo cheesy and really great flavor. Generous portion too! The Grilled Chicken Tacos with the Molé (not sure how to spell it!) sauce was delicious, filled to the brim with chicken and I didn’t feel like it was too much tortilla despite what other reviews say.

Portion Size/Price: 5/5 Got wayyyy bigger portions than I thought. Spent about $45 for two people without the tip between me and my mom, and ended up easily getting 5 meals out of it.

Attentiveness: 4/5 It was really slow when we were there, so everyone who worked there was super relaxed. I don’t mind at all, but if you’re a Karen and don’t like people being on their phones or doing homework when they’re not busy (you should probably loosen up) it may not seem attentive enough for you.

Overall: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kind of confused why there’s so many negative reviews. We sat down and within 10 minutes had the most AMAZING bean dip ever. Within 20min had everything else. Chips aren’t stale at all, and the salsa is pretty spicy!

Waitress was super nice. She was really young, and it seemed like she was still learning/training, but she was still super kind and courteous!

La Puente used to be my go to place for their Chile Verde smothered burrito. When they had just two locations in the Salt Lake Valley, it was all I could do to finish one of these burritos. When I moved to So Cal, I learned quickly that not all Chile verde’s are the same; and I compared every one to that of La Puente’s. I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in how far they have fallen. I’ve been back in Salt Lake for a few months now, and I had the urge for Chile verde the other night. I ordered take out, and everything was nice and warm when I got home, but the burrito was sad. It was a tortilla with a smear of beans on the inside and double flapped over, with some Verde sauce over the top. Even though I ordered smothered, it was lacking cheese. Oh well, I was still looking forward to the CV. It was so far from good. The sauce tasted like a step above spaghetti-o’s in the can, with maybe 5 or 6 pieces of pork. Luckily I had ordered some cheese enchiladas for leftovers, because I ended up eating one to satisfy my hunger that night.

I’d ordered a side of Verde on one of the other dishes for my mom. I put some in a tortilla, and some over it, and heated that up with the extra cheese enchilada, for lunch today.

Needless to say, I am typing this from the bathroom, because I now have food poisoning and the meal is exiting me quickly.

I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. I was excited to know there was a La Puente in sandy close to home so we didnt have to drive to salt lake anymore. We decided to do take out last night because we had a long day after we came home we noticed they messed up one of our orders so we had to drive back in traffic to get the correct order after we ate about 2 hours later my husband and daughter and I felt very sick we all have been throwing up and having diarrhea and the sweats and sick to our stomachs, I had called to speak with a manager to let them know that we are all sick just to get called a liar and hung up on, all this manager did was yell and me and was very disrespectful she had no concern for our health and didn't offer no apology or to try and fix this in anyway, she gathered my information and hung up ON ME.....with no solution this women shouldnt be a manager OR BE WORKING the food industry she has no customer service skills and no compassion for someone's well being. I have made a report to the health department also I will be taking my family to the doctors. THIS place isn't worth having your family sick and missing work because of there contaminated food.
