Story time! I'm new to Utah. I moved here a few months ago and I'm having fun exploring all the local places and foods. I don't know Orem from Ogden yet, and for some reason, North always feels like South. That said, I ended up going to the wrong Wingers, sure to not paying attention and due to Google maps getting the wrong tap.
So I've driven 15 minutes, not realizing I'm in West Jordan instead of Draper. Stupid me. I showed up at this Wingers place and asked them about the phone order. When the staff was confused, I realized my mistake: I was at the wrong one.
So I told the waitstaff what we'd ordered and they told me it'd be about 10 minutes, offered me some free popcorn and a drink, and went to get it going. They had greeted me with a smile and were extremely courteous about the whole ordeal and I say to wait my ten minutes.
After about 5 bites of popcorn and a couple sips of soda, maybe 2 minutes later, my food comes out piping hot. Absolutely astounding service, even for a light day.
I wanted to expound on the impeccable service because, to be honest, while surprisingly good, the food wasn't nearly as big of a wow as the service.
I got the dinners with the original sauce. They were pretty tasty, reminiscent of general chicken in flavor, but way less cloyingly sweet and just the right amount of spicy. There breading was the real winner here though. After probably 20-25 minutes of sitting in styrofoam, they were still very crispy. The fries didn't fare as well, getting soggy by the time I got home. Again, my fault, and they were still tasty fries. We also got onion rings which were delicious. They were, again, still quite crispy, and were awesome in the dipping sauce.
Food was a solid 7, but service was a 15. That gets a 5 star out of me any day and I'll definitely be back. Often. Now I just have to try the Buffalo...
Read moreMan this is a hard review to write. My boyfriend and I came here on 2/2 and left around 3pm. We were the second people to be seated in our area and then after us 4-5 groups were seated. It took 20 minutes to get it our drinks and someone else had to bring them. I get they were probably short handed and I completely understand slower service because of that, I have worked in the food industry for a couple of years so I get it. But everyone got checked on but us, everyone got their food before us. Everyone else has the waitress and other workers come by and see if they needed anything, but us. At one point when the other employee brought us our drinks they said our meal would be comped 50% and it wasn't discounted at all. There was a family that sat after us, got their food before us, and left before us. There was a guy that was seated past us and she kept checking on him and would walk right past us. Our drinks weren't refilled but others were. I try to have the benefit of the doubt and have never been treated this way, but we are mixed couple and I hope that wasn't why we were treated differently, but when everyone else is getting better service than us, I don't know what else to think. We finally were able to pay and that still took 10 minutes so get our card back. I know if I don't come back here, I will get replaced by another customer, but I haven't been treated like this before and will never return to any wingers again, and it is probably just that waitress, but she did it for me. Again, I could be wrong, but when everyone is getting better served with it being short handed and we are getting walked past all the time and completely forgotten, I don't know what else to think. I shouldn't go home crying from getting food because of my...
Read moreThe first time we went here, it wasn't bad. I may even call it decent. This time was not so. We waited to be seated. Three different waitresses told us they would be with us and then hurried off. When we were finally seated, I asked the waitress for some crayons as none had come with his coloring page kid's menu. She took our drink order and hurried away. It took her five minutes to return with our drinks. By that time, I had already fished a pen out of my purse to calm our two year old, so I didn't bother reminding her she had forgotten the crayons. We ordered our food. We waited about 30 minutes for it to arrive. My son's food had the wrong side. My husband's was missing a side. My burger was so greasy that the bottom bun had desintegrated into a soggy mess prior to reaching our table. Two men at the table behind us finally got their food. One almost immediately drew the waitresses attention to a three inch long piece of plastic wrap in his food. She called her manager out, who comp'd the man's salad and gave a free dessert. Good job manager. It was a great resolution, until the waitress brought out the dessert. She then proceeded to tell the man how it WASNT AS BAD AS THE WOMAN WHO FOUND A LADYBUG IN HER FOOD THERE. What???? Why would she ever think that would be a good thing to tell a patron?? She said it loud enough that everyone else who was seated heard it.
In short, I don't think my family will be returning to Winger's in the foreseeable future. Inattentive kitchen staff, unprofessional wait staff, and apparently...
