This is kind of a long review, so strap yourself in!

I can’t say enough good things about this nursery. Their website is EXTREMELY helpful, and made it easy for me to find the exact plants/trees I wanted so that when I went in to pick them out, I was ready to go!

I went in to go and pick out my trees, and at first was very lost (it was a busy Saturday!), but was quickly approached by a man with a map. He told me that he’d be happy to help me and went immediately to get a cart. We set off, and I quickly found out that my research and my list of trees wouldn’t work with my irrigation water (Saratoga Springs has salt in it which I had no idea! It even says it on the city website, which I totally missed!). Luckily, Linn knew exactly which trees/flowers could tolerate the salt well. I, personally, don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on trees and flowers, just to have them die. So I was super happy for his suggestions, as all of them were identical to what I had originally wanted. We go up to pay, and we get our total and decide that we’d like to have the nursery deliver our purchase. We were undecided on planting yet as we were still waiting on other bids from landscaping companies.

On our drive home, Linn called and stated that the register didn’t log three trees (looking over our receipt, I noticed that he was indeed correct and was grateful he called as soon as he did). I paid for our remaining trees and also decided to go with the nursery for planting our entire purchase, because who better to plant things than the nursery themselves?!

The original delivery date without planting was 6/9/18, but due to me changing my mind and having the nursery not only deliver, but also plant everything, it was then changed to 7/9/18. 6/9/18 comes around and I get a call that our trees have been delivered and tucked away in our driveway. Confused, and a little distraught, I called and spoke with Johnna (I believe that was her name). Johnna said she’d talk with Linn and her delivery men and call me back. 7 pm rolls around (which is when the nursery closes), and still no call. I got a call at 8 pm, after their hours, from Linn. He said that he, himself, would come and pick up the trees to take back to the nursery or he, himself, would plant them the next day. I opted to plant them the next day. The next morning, Linn is at my home bright and early, ready to work, with a smile on his face. BY HIMSELF LADIES AND GENTS. Linn is an older gentlemen and I couldn’t believe that he came over to plant the trees and make what happened right. His customer service skills exceeded my expectations, and if I had my own business, I can say right now that Linn would be my number one choice in an employee. This man is the definition of perfect customer service. LINN made me over the moon happy with this place. He was kowledgeable, has a positive attitude and is happy to be there, respectful, polite and considerate, he was dependable, honest, and fabulous at problem solving. My trees are beautifully planted too, I’m so excited that my yard finally...

Very bad experience. We have a budget of $2400. Went to Glover thinking we could find some great trees, flowers, shrubs or whatever we might need for our new construction home.

When we got there, we discovered within minutes that the paving was much too hot for our 1 year old lab. The paving was burning his paws. We quickly took him back to the car, re-positioned it in the shade, and rolled the windows down. We take first class care of our dog! He is me and my partner's child in essence, because we obviously can't have kids of our own. A nice elderly man in a Glover shirt, about to drive away in his pickup, offered to let us take our dog inside. We explained the pavement was too hot, he acknowledged that, and drove away.

After spending a few minutes at Glover, a young man chased us down and said our dog was in distress. We hurried back, not wanting that for our pooch at all. We got back to the car. And wait, it was still in the shade, the windows were rolled down. We opened up the hatch to check on him, and there he lay, as happy as ever. We checked his temperature, feeling him all over. Hmmm, nothing wrong. We offered him water, and he took two laps of the tongue, and was done. Not thirsty. We couldn't figure it out. We thought it over again, shade overhead, windows rolled down, not thirsty. Well, it appeared he was fine.

As we were packing up to leave, not wanting to distress the workers, to nasty ladies came around the corner shouting something at us. One was short, red headed, and quite young. The other, mid 30's or 40's, longish hair, and a bit plumper. As we got in our car we stated "he appears to be fine." To which the plump woman responded, "We'll call the police."

What an absurd experience. These ladies appeared to be jumping to conclusions, and not thinking the situation through. What's more telling is the way they treated us. Had we remained a minute or two longer, I'm sure it would have been a lynching straight out of the 1850's. The mob mentality of the two women was amazing.

So, off to another...

I made the mistake of going in to the nursery to buy a Bristlecone pine. I was directed by staff to drive to the location where the pine was located. Upon arrival I found a tree that was suitable for my needs. I then proceeded to meet with an older gentleman who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the tree. He recommended MMKE as a way to preserve the tree and keep it healthy along with a 5 year warranty. I then was directed to drive to a different location to pay for the tree. I mistakenly did not make a right turn and I ended up going out the front gate of the facility and then I drove to the shack where ai met the older gentleman who took my payment. $505.00. I promised to come back in and pick up my tree the following week. This morning I get a call from Mr. Glover. Incredulously he asks me how he knows me and how it is that I came to his nursery to buy a tree. He is very very rude and nasty. I told him I had done business with them before many years ago and I was in need of a new Bristlecone pine tree. He proceeded to scold me and ridicule me for silly reasons that are ridiculous. I paid him $505 for a tree and he is ANGRY with me! I told him to flat cancel the trade and the order for the tree!!

My take is as follows. This nursery is run by a bunch of crazy tree Nazis! The are typical hard core leftist eco nut idiots.

The last thing they care about is a cash paying customer with $505 in his pocket to buy a tree.

Glover Nursery is run by a bunch of left wing Green New Deal Radical Eco NUTZ!!! AVOID THIS PLACE! West side Nursery is a much better choice. They are very kind helpful and laid back staff and the owner are very friendly...

Just had a terrible experience at Glover. I’m a design client and we installed about 40 plants early spring. Three of the plants didn’t do well despite all others thriving. I called about replacing them under warranty, and they suggested to give them some more time. Three weeks later and still not doing anything. They said to email photos and I did. They said to dig them up and bring them in for credit. And since they didn’t have the same plant in stock, they gave suggestions on alternative plants to replace them. I mention I’ll be in today and when I get to the office, which wasn’t easy to find the right person, they act like they’ve never heard of me. Want me to show them the email chain, want to see the pictures of the dead plants, which I had already sent. Their tone sounded like I was trying to pull one over on them. How hard is it to replace three small plants that never grew after being planted in the first place. They finally give me a credit. Then zero help to find any of the replacement plants. Searching all over the property, finally find them and then the checkout people tell me I can’t buy those because they aren’t the same plant. But they don’t have the plant in inventory, thus the different plant. After arguing with the checkout people, which I feel super bad about, they finally let me go. What a fiasco, and they were the ones that sold me the dormant (actually dead) plants.

Let me first say that I really liked your sales rep (Amber) outside of that, what an atrocious experience! I fell in love with the scent of your climbing rose ā€œRise Up Ambernessā€ so I bought one climber and one regular rose bush on Saturday. It’s now Monday and I had to throw both of them in the trash, which broke my heart. Most of the roses weren’t deadheaded properly, but figured I could simply fix that at home, boy was I wrong! I didn’t even have these roses for two days and the new blooms had wilted just like they had in your nursery. Upon further inspection, I found that there’s a thrip infestation! The wilted blooms weren’t spent blooms, but a result from a sick plant that shouldn’t have been sold in the first place, let alone at full price! I’m not new to gardening and understand that pests come with the territory, but why would I spend almost a $100 between these two bushes just to have to wean both back to health while possibly infesting the rest of my garden that I’ve worked so hard on?! If anyone would’ve even bothered to check to see why the blooms were wilting so quickly they would’ve seen what the problem was. Now I’m stuck with having to go to another nursery to fix a problem that should never have been mine to begin with.

We stumbled upon Glover's Nursery because our local nursery was bought out by a national company, and buying local really means something to us. While we were looking around, we were introduced to Ben, and he gave us a quote for a rock fountain/water feature. His quote was about the middle as far as other quotes for the same thing. But we're a 'Buy it nice, or end up buying it twice' kind of family, so the decision was easy when we asked Ben a question and he would reply with an answer or detail, not tell us that he'd have to get back to us. Ben brought out 2 employees with him, and they were done by lunch. He was thorough in his instructions for taking care of the pump and gave us some recommendations for ideas for the other end of the yard. They left no trace that they were there, and we will most definitely be referring Ben and Glover Nursery to everyone. As soon as we get most of our backyard finished this spring and make some room, we'll be going back to get a concrete face that they have that reminds us of our honeymoon in Florence, Italy where we saw a very similar face sculpture at the Boboli Gardens.
