Market District Supermarket — Local services in Westerville

For the first time, I catered some sides for our Thanksgiving dinner. For a family with 10 adults and one 4 yr old, I ordered 3 family sized mashed potatoes, 2 family sized stuffing, 1 family sized Brussels sprouts, and 2 16 oz turkey gravy. (Our adult kids provided more sides and we made the turkey and ham) Anyway, reviewing the food: everything was delicious. I picked up on Tuesday afternoon and put it all in the fridge. On Thursday, I used a crockpot to reheat the mashed potatoes. I wound up adding some milk to make them a little creamier. They were delicious. Two family sized trays for all of us would’ve been sufficient, maybe because we had SO much food. They reheated well in the crockpot but next time I’ll use a liner. Started out on high and then turned to low to keep them warm. The gravy tasted home made. 32 oz was plenty. I have about 1C left over. I’ve had the Brussels sprouts before - they’re delicious. My only complaint was the stuffing. It was mush. I didn’t add anything to it and reheated as directed in the oven but there was simply too much liquid. Nothing in there to give it any type of texture and frankly, it just didn’t taste right. It wasn’t good. Nearly everyone at least tried it but one full tray wound up in the trash. Per Julio, the head of fresh food at this location, the stuffing was the only thing not made “in house” but is made elsewhere and sold as a catered item. Would I use their catering again? Absolutely - but will skip the stuffing and will make it myself. (And I do usually make all of this stuff myself each year but as I have a foot injury, I had to cut...

I enjoy the location for the market district supermarket. They are literally around everything that I need and pretty close to home. A reminder if you didn't already know that you need to be bringing in your own reusable bags. If not, you will be charged for a bag. It's not much, but it is more than nothing. The store itself has a lot of different options that you might not always see in other grocery stores. The pricing is a little bit higher than what I like to pay. Therefore, I don't make this my full-time shopping, although they do have some great deals from time to time. The staff there seem to be very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a Starbucks on location but there's also one outside as well. They have a fabulous meat and seafood department that I'm always finding really great selections at. Personally. I also love going there for their pre-made meals, very good selection, kind of expensive but you're paying for somebody to already pre-make your stuff so you can just go home, throw it in the oven or microwave. My only disappointment the past couple times that I've gone in was the selection in the bakery. They sometimes have a great selection of cakes and cheesecakes but the past couple times I've gone in it's been very few where you actually have to either purchase from the bakery counter or by full cakes. Shipt dropped the ball and tried to reschedule the delivery when she called to check on why they had not came yet. Upon hearing that they were NOT coming??? She put on her outstanding human cape (we need MORE of this people!!!) And delivered them herself.

What she didn't know by doing this action she was helping me in SO many ways💝

I am a Baker and I run an annual March Event: ESSB "MADNESS" and those items were for THAT event! Tomorrow would've been too late and I would've had no way of knowing that the delivery was rescheduled until way too late!

She wouldn't even accept a tip when I tried while she was communicating about my shopping items, she said they're not allowed to accept tips:(((.

Giant Eagle PLEASE change this policy because the shoppers REALLY work hard and do a GREAT Job and some of us would love to recognize them❣️
