Binny's Beverage Depot - Arlington Heights — Local services in Wheeling Township

I Bought a keg here for a party, 1/4 Barrel. I was charged a $70 fee for the rental of the tapper, and a $30 fee until I returned the barrel. Nothing else was explained to me other than That I would get my $100 deposit back when I return the keg in the tap. I returned the keg and the tapper Two weeks later, and was told that without my receipt, I would not be able to receive my refund back. This was never told to me when I got the keg, and since I ordered the keg, I know they have my information. Instead, they could only offer me a gift card. That’s useless to me, a gift card cannot pay my credit Card bill. There’s absolutely no reason to not refund me other than stealing my money. Now all I have is a gift card to Binny’s, and I don’t even want to shop here anymore. If it’s store policy, then it needs to be made known. I was never told that I would need a receipt, plus they must know my information because I ordered the keg from this store. I had a very disappointing experience at Binny’s. When I attempted to purchase alcohol, I was asked to show my ID — which is perfectly understandable. However, my plastic state ID had expired, and I currently only have the official paper extension issued by the government. The paper ID is valid and legal, and it serves as a government-issued document during the renewal process.

Unfortunately, the cashier refused to accept it and didn’t offer any alternatives or show any willingness to understand the situation. I tried to explain that I am waiting for the new physical card from the state and that this is the system — I didn’t invent it. Still, I was treated dismissively, as if I wasn’t even worth listening to.

It felt like they simply didn’t care. As an immigrant, this experience was especially upsetting. I wasn’t expecting special treatment, just a bit of basic understanding and respect.

If I really wanted to buy some alcohol of any kind this store is definitely my go-to just because they probably have the best selection I mean, the grocery stores have great selection of beverages but the selection in this store is different and definitely better. They have literally a wide selection of different alcohol in any kind and everything I could wanted and I could even ask for is always available. It is kind of a big store for beverages but it is easy to find anything because everything is well-organized and separated to its kind. The staff in here is also friendly and helpful and each time I would feel lazy looking for a particular product, I would just ask a staff that would gladly help and also knowledgeable about the products they have which is really nice.
