The main reason I gave this place two stars was because of the staff they have been Pleasant and Sweet did everything they could to make the experience as good as they could. I was very unhappy with the setup of the place, and I should have gone out there to check it out; however, based on what I saw on the website, I thought that this would be a nice place to come and have a Christmas party with my co-workers. The owner of our facility was not happy either; the rooms were small, we could not bring music in, and you could hear everyone's conversations. The amount of money that somebody will pay to have a Christmas event at this establishment is definitely not worth it at all. Me and my coworkers had an okay time in the escape rooms, but it was not the experience that we were quite hoping for. Again, the staff is very pleasant. They were professional and sweet, and they did their best to make our experience great. This place is just for something to do randomly with some friends at the mall. I do not think that they should have any type of party at this establishment because it was just all over the place. Wish me everything looked unorganized and just thrown together. When we have our Christmas parties, it's more jolly, like fun and laughter. Thankfully, there weren't so many people coming in to do the escape room because we did get loud every now and then from laughing and talking. I feel like there can be a lot of improvements in this place. The lights are too bright, and some things need to be fixed on the website that say one thing but are totally another. But we'll put the ice on the cake because we didn't have any way to heat up the food, so I'll end up bringing my own microwave because I didn't want to use their microwave, which was for their staff, and I wanted to make sure that we all could heat up our food. The experience was not the best, and again, I think they need to add more excitement to these escape rooms. Everything was so bland, plain, and just cold; it was not inviting, and it didn't look fun. You can make the experience okay with your family, friends, and co-workers, but I just feel like I can be a whole lot more added to this place that is not. Once again, the owner of our establishment, Ms.Greene, myself, and the rest of the co-workers will say thank you anyway for having us, especially, and again, I want to thank the staff because they were very...
Read moreWhen we entered, we were greeted at the front desk. Although the woman was helpful, she was not really welcoming, never smiled, and was all business. When she explained about the locks, she rattled off the directions so fast, we could barely understand her. It was very rote and robotic. I had thought this would be a place of FUN and that the staff would make the experience entertaining. Our initial impression was cold and clinical rather than an introduction to an exciting event. It would be a much more enjoyable experience if the person who greeted us would have shown some enthusiasm and personality and set a happy tone. She seemed to be just getting though the day to earn her paycheck. The room was really sterile. It would have been more enjoyable if the lights had been dimmed a bit (it was so bright it felt like an interrogation room). And could there be some music playing in the background that fit with the theme? It was pretty stark. We did have a fun time figuring the clues out, but it was super easy. We got it in 15 minutes. But then the 2nd level was weird because you couldn’t really figure out the measurements from the scale that was provided. When we got our photo taken, the props were really worn and the words on the signs were worn off. It would have made a nicer photo if the props were in better shape and we had more to choose from. They looked pretty sad and beat up. It would be nice if some hand sanitizer were available. It is needed after touching all the items. The most annoying thing was that there are NO BATHROOMS! It’s hard to understand why there wouldn’t be a bathroom available after being there for an hour. This made our experience very uncomfortable because we thought we would have time to use a bathroom before entering the escape room, and found out there were none available. This is a definite FAIL. The photo quality is really grainy and not very clear. We were hoping for a really good photo, and instead it is kind of disappointing. Also, we were not allowed to choose our background.
All in all, it was a “meh” experience. It could be greatly improved. I will not...
Read moreMy wife and I are avid enthusiasts of escape rooms, having experienced over 40 different ones across the United States in the past few years. Recently, we visited All in Adventures in White Marsh, along with friends who were new to escape rooms. Despite the business having positive reviews, our experience fell short of expectations.
Escape rooms usually have certain standards, such as video or audio communication with the game master for hints and troubleshooting. This venue only had a doorbell to summon the attendant, which proved inefficient and time-consuming, especially when the attendant was preoccupied. This method detracted from the experience, as it delayed the provision of hints and disrupted the game's flow.
A coherent storyline with a clear objective is crucial in escape rooms. However, at All in Adventures, the narrative was unclear, and the attendant's explanation did not provide a clear end-goal. This lack of clarity hindered our engagement with the storyline and the overall experience.
Additionally, the quality of puzzles and mechanisms significantly impacts the enjoyment of an escape room. One puzzle we encountered involved a poorly executed lock mechanism, which was both confusing and indicative of minimal effort in design. For the price of $40 per person, we expected more innovative and engaging puzzles.
Overall, the escape room experience at All in Adventures, specifically the Sherlock Holmes themed room, was disappointing. The room was small and lacked the element of transitioning into additional spaces, which is common in other escape rooms. The puzzles and storyline lacked coherence and engagement. While the staff was friendly, it seemed the focus was more on the business aspect rather than providing a memorable customer experience. Our friends, who were first-timers, left with a lackluster impression of escape rooms based on this experience. We would advise enthusiasts looking for sophisticated and creatively challenging rooms to consider...
