Ok Man where do I start. First of all, my wife Kendra works two jobs due to my disability. She had Monday, Labor Day off from both jobs and we have been wanting a new bed, so we looked through all the “Labor Day Sale Ads” to chose a couple to go too. We started off at Ashley Furniture which was closed on Labor Day! So we then went to Wichita Mattress and Furniture, which was closed. I had my little rant about having a Labor Day sale but not being open on Labor Day, but I regress. Then the wife says what about the Slumberland place out east? I said let’s try it. Now mind you we live @ 119th West and 29th North and Slumberland is at Greenwich and Highway 54 East. But was worth a shot so here we go. They and the place next door were open thank God, so we go in. Went back to were the beds were at and the place was a little busy due to the fact they were the only ones open but in only five minutes a gentleman approached us and really took his time to explain things to us as we were looking to upgrade to an adjustable bed frame. He was NOT pushy and even showed us things above and below where we started in price. His name was Captain Kurt!!! Best salesman I have been around In years. Worked with us because we had not gotten the transfer of funds yet, as it was a last minute kind of thing, but he wrote up our ticket and we told him we would be back on Thursday to settle up. He called on Thursday when we were already on our way out there and basically met us half way through the store. Such a nice gentleman and what a nice place to shop in. We also looked at new living room furniture but told him after the purchase of the bed it would have to wait for a little while. Even though he new there would not be another sale at the moment he still showed us the other furniture. We will definitely go back to Capitan Kurt and Slumberland to purchase new furniture. I can not express how nice it was to be treated with respect and not be the typical pushy salesperson. Captain Kurt ………..Job Well Done! You and Slumberland area Top Notch place. We...
Read moreWe ordered a coffee table on December 4th. Online, it showed 12-13 weeks for availability so we prepared ourselves for that. My wife called a few weeks after the order just to be sure that we were still on the same timeline. We were pleasantly surprised to be told that it would actually be available at the end of January. January passes and we had no communication from Slumberland. My wife called again and was told due to covid and warehouses shutting down and staffing shortages that it would be the end of February. We completely understood and still kept the 12-13 week time frame in mind. February rolls around, nothing. We call again and are now told it will be mid-April. This time passes, nothing. We call again and are now being told May, again due to covid shut downs. My wife called again yesterday and we are now being told Mid-June for a single coffee table. We are now nearly 19 weeks in to our original 12-13 week availability and with the latest date given, we will be at 23+ weeks. We paid for the table back in December. They have had our money for nearly 7 months and have only proactively reached out to us 1 time at the end of March via text to inform us of another delay. Yet we were offered the option to cancel the order multiple times when we called to check. We have been completely understanding about the situations with covid but 7 months for 1 coffee table and nearly no proactive communication is ridiculous and pretty much ensures that we will not be returning to Slumberland after we have purchased several pieces over the last 8 years. More proactive communication would have made such a difference to at least let us know that Slumberland is on top of their customer’s orders. We are trying to decide at this point if we want to go ahead and wait until June since we have waited this long, or cut our losses and cancel the order. This has been extremely...
Read moreExcellent customer service!! I did some shopping on their website to narrow down which chairs I wanted to look at. I called the Wichita West store to verify they were on display. They were in fact on display and the sales associate let me know that 2 of the 3 chairs were one of their top sellers. They went on to check on availability in their warehouses for me.
When I came to the store several days later, the associate that I talked to on the phone was not working that day. He had talked with another associate and shared the details of our conversation!
I sat in the chairs I had narrowed down to, even though they were great chairs, I discovered that they would not work for my 6’2 husband. The sales associate was very knowledgeable and started showing me other chairs that would be of interest.
She allowed me to sit and recline in them without any pressure! She recommended that I sit how I usually sit in my chairs at home to make sure that the chair was a good “fit” and was comfortable.
I narrowed it down to two different chairs and she checked on the availability of the chairs as well as fabric color. As I’m going back and forth between these two chairs she commented on the fit for me and how much room would be available for my husband.
The associate was so easy to work with as well as the rest of the staff. I decided to order my chairs with the Tempur foam. At checkout, I was informed about financing options as well how long it would take for my chairs to ship from the factory and delivery options.
I will definitely be going back to Slumberland for my...
