I am EXTREMELY disappointed! I'm staying across the street for the next few days much as I did at the beginning of the month. Should be a given that I can have a quick bite before heading back to the hotel HOWEVER I was actually just kicked out! Let me explain: when I sat I ordered a Modelo beer and asked for it to be a seperate check from my food order. Not a big deal, I need to turn in my food receipt to my employer and that beer isn't their responsibility. Everywhere I go it's an easy task, until tonight. So after my meal the waitress brings two seperate checks as requested but apparently the fact that one credit card should be used for both purchases was too much to wrap her head around? Seems easy- beer receipt, paid with this card. Food receipt, paid with same card. Take both copies back to the table for the customer. Two items purchased on seperate receipts. EXCEPT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THAT WAY! Instead she returned to my table with two copies of the same receipt- this receipt had my sandwich and my beer totaled together! EASY TO FIX? You would imagine. Didn't turn out that way though. She then returned again with a receipt for sandwich and another for a beer and a third random receipt which still totaled the two items together! At this point the "manager" was brought in to help. After berating me for being "confusing" (seems really simple to just charge the beer as a different transaction altogether if you ask me) she lost patience with my request and told me she was not charging me for anything. I didn't ask for that, I had no cash to tip the waitress who would have been entitled to TWO SEPERATE TIPS had she simply listened to my request. Oh well, I can't tip but at least I'll finish that beer. EXCEPT SHE THEN SENT A BUSBOY OVER TO ASK ME TO LEAVE! Are you kidding me? Not only did you lose my patronage tonight but my plans for easy eating the next few days meant I would be spending a few more dollars. I was completely taken aback by the entire ordeal. You have seen unruly guests and seems easy to believe I was one considering they kicked me out but that's not the case. It made me laugh to be honest, the fact that when I asked for a manager the rude lady that was assisting claimed to be her. REALLY? And then asking me to leave because? She said I was rude to her family, no idea what the hell that means. She said other guests had complained but this all happened within minutes and the tables nearest me never left their seats. She then claimed I wss rude to her, TO HER! On my gosh you have to be kidding me. Needless to say this will not ever be on my radar again no matter how many business trips I make. Three weeks ago I sat in the "bar area" up front and the servers were all able to keep my single beer on a separate receipt. This waitress was in over her head and her manager had her back over the best interests of the establishment- bless her heart for her loyalty but not a good business model. Won't...
Read more(TLDR: fine in every category. Food is passable, the staff does their best with what they have, environment is okay. You want a great BBQ experience look elsewhere (I'd recommend "When Pigs Fly"). Frustrating to middle of the road experience, always accompanied with road bumps of some kind.)
Not my favorite restaurant and certainly not my go to bbq place. Everything here is always okay and it never goes really smoothly.
My dad likes it here so we go a handful of times a year. Each time there's a different thing going wrong. They always have an excuse and blame something, and it's understandable to a point, but after two years of the same excuses when other places have found work arounds.. it becomes more of a management issue.
This time, they were out of plates and forks. The plastic ware broke repeatedly even when used gingerly. My mom got a piece of black plastic in her salad. Two of our party didn't receive food until half way through dinner and was the same thing the rest of us had ordered (ribs). They didn't notice they didn't bring my daughter's food at all (under 10 years) (which was also ribs). The two loaded spuds at the table were served without butter and we're overcooked. Toppings were good but the potato was dry, flavorless, grainy, and charred.
No refund offered and a "new order" for anything had a 30 minute wait tone even though the place wasn't really crowded. A side of butter was given "at no charge" (as it should be in this case.. Right?) but the potatoes were too cold to melt it.
We had to go up front to buy a gift card (despite the experience that is repeatedly not great, he likes the place for some reason..) and it took twenty five minutes standing there to get one. Not because it was busy, or they didn't have staff, or they didn't know how to do it... The process just took that long to put money on a gift card.
Everyone's tickets were all messed up and when they were "fixed" it was still not right. We paid as is and just used PayPal to make up the difference to each other because it took three staff to try to put the right items on the right ticket and still not get it right. Maybe a problem of too many cooks in the kitchen at that point.
I give a place the benefit of the doubt and dislike leaving bad reviews but it's a slow train wreck every time.
The place is plenty big and there's not a lot of wait time to get seated just don't expect your food to be as fast, if it comes at all.
I will be back, whether I want to or not... And I really hope they turn it around and my follow up review will be in a more positive light. (Unlikely but hopeful)

Read moreI ordered a Family Feast for take-out. Like most BBQ joints it was on the pricey side but it's to be expected when you're buying primarily meat. The staff were quick and easy to understand and knowledgable about their products and options, via phone ordering. When I arrived to pick up my order 15- 20 min. later, I was greeted at the door and helped immediately. My food was sacked , ready, and hot. The cashier was friendly and efficient, having every and all things needed and requested already in the bag. This included plenty of plastic ware, and wet naps, the sauces I ordered, and a few containers of the other sauces for my family to sample. I'd also like to mention that the plastic ware and napkins were already in the bag before I ever had to ask. As I was leaving, the cashier asked is I needed any assistance to my vehicle as he held the door for me. All around my experience was great. The food was delicious and worth every penny I spent. I ordered Cole slaw as one of my sides and it wasn't particularly my favorite but only because of personal preference....if I were to give any complaint at all. Either way, I would strongly urge anyone to try it out. They get an A+ in this costomers book!...
