When I was in Williamsburg a few weeks ago I decided to shop at this goodwill. I found several things at great prices. I waited in line and found the cashier to be extremely rude. It was busy so I took the shirts off the hangers for her while I was waiting and when it was my turn I placed them on the counter. This particular cashier was masked and wearing gloves (that is not the problem though) This cashier informed me very rudely that I needed to hand her the shirts one by one through the clear window. I informed her that I didn't understand that because she can reach them right there laying on the counter. She was extremely rude and told me if I didn't hand them to her that way then she couldn't ring them up. I was so close to walking out but I found some things that I really wanted to have. I informed her I had a decor item that didn't fit through the window and she told me to hold it up. I looked over at the other cashier and she was ringing things regularly and didn't require things to go though the silly window that you can obviously reach around. If this particular cashier is that scared of people and illness maybe she would be better suited sorting and pricing clothing in the back. I shop at Goodwill when I visit other cities as well as donate in my hometown and have never encountered a Goodwill employee that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is about all the Goodwill thrift stores in Coastal Va. The variety can be pretty good but the prices have gone so high that I don't go to them regularly anymore. Their prices seem pretty close to what you can find at upscale secondhand stores and antique malls. Yet here I find they don't take the time to organize to make it nice for the customer or to clean their items but they've tripled their prices. Thrift stores are becoming not so thrifty anymore. Update... I went in today to look around and it has been a while. I picked up a 1920 Parker Brothers Rook game and was thrilled that the front cover was still in beautiful condition but got I it home and carefully went to remove the two price stickers they put on the front and it damaged the cover lifting the cardboard of course and destroying the graphic. I wish they would place their stickers on non-important spots of a cardboard or paper item. Also they need to get in the habit of not covering up the makers labels on the bottom so we don't have to try and pry to take a peek. Now that we're paying premium prices at thrift stores I'd like them to be a lot more careful in their handling of it as they bring it to the shelves...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I went in to browse and buy some things. The selection was ok, we ended up buying a few things and one of the items my wife found pictured below was priced at .75. we went to check out and the lady says the total and it sounds a bit high as most of the items we selected are not much, I take a look at the screen and the item pictured is marked as $3.75 I picked it up to varify I read it correctly and it says .75 I let her know as I say her pick all the items up as she checked us out she said no it says 3.75. I then asked for someone else to come up as clearly this is marked .75 a manager comes up and says those are 3.75 I showed her the bottom and she said the $3 must have wiped off or the guys in the back might have marked it incorrectly but that was the price. We let her know there are 2 more in the back also priced .75 but she said that is the wrong price as she knows they are 3.75. if there is a set price on these figures why not just put up a sign like on the media products so there is no confusion as whoever stickered the items either does not know how to use the price tagger or does not know what they want these...
