I asked to go here for my birthday dinner because of the great experiences we've had before. Normally, I would rate our visit 5 stars but the service was severely lacking. Our server was new, which was explained to us as after we left. It also explained the 15-minute wait for him to come and take our drink order. After ordering our beverages (sweet tea with lemon) and ordering pan seared dumplings, our drinks arrived without our lemons and the appetizer arrived but it was steamed dumplings instead. I asked the server if they were pan seared, to which he replied "yes" even though they were not. I had to carry the plate to the window and they said they would fix the order right away. However, another 15 minutes elapsed and our dinner arrived at the table sans our appetizer. I cancelled the dumplings. Our server apologized but it didn't help to see all of his other tables being promptly served with no wait, and no incorrect orders. I wonder if it was because he was new or if there was another reason my husband and I received such poor service. Hmmm...

The food here is always good, which is why they received 4-stars but if I could offer a bit of advice - make sure your servers know the menu and make sure 30 minutes don't go by before your customers are greeted and fed most of...

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have been to so many restaurants both good and bad - this is by far the WORSE in everything! Don't believe what you see in Bizarre Foods show, it's all pretty much BS. I went there while driving with family from SC back home to NJ cause my wife and I saw it featured on BF. Big, Big mistake and we regretted it all around. The place is filthy, service is very poor and the food? Disgusting! We ordered the famed bubble pancake (or whatever crap they call it), although the cake was ok at best, the dipping sauce for it tasted like stale tap water (no exaggeration). We also tried the fried eggplant and seafood pan fried noodles - both below par. It was such a disappointment, I did not bother leaving a tip - was so disgusted with the food, service and the facility. To add to this misery, during the rest of the trip back to NJ, everyone in my family had diarrhea and throw up. I called the manager later during the day to complain about our experience. He just said he needed proof from a hospital we got sick!!! Had half the mind to bag these crap up and send it to him. Never, ever, ever again! BE ADVISED, Stay away...

This was my favorite place until recently. Last week ordered my usual Sesame Tofu and I got chicken didn't realize it until I bit in. I was really clear I don't eat meat and substitute the tofu. My husband ordered his meal mild and it was Loaded with peppers and blazing spicy. By the time my dinner came my husband was done. NO compensation for the major screw up. Decided to go on Christmas, they were busy, we knew they would be and were patient. I asked upon arrival how long, 3 groups ahead of us about 15 minutes. 40 minutes later we were seated, 15 minutes later I asked who was covering our table as no one had been to us yet. When we tried to order I ordered my same sesame tofu and I was told NO, kitchen was busy. She asked where it was on the menu and I pointed to the sesame chicken and said no chicken but with tofu. She flipped menu to tofu items. I expressed I didnt want one of those (i have allergies and know I can eat the sesame tofu). I tried once more to express I get it literally every week. She said no and we left. 2 bad experiences in less...

I love the flavor profiles of the food. Great mix of spices. The spicy food is really spicy but also flavorful. The not spicy food is also very well seasoned. I love the shredded tofu skins, bamboo fish and dry fried mushrooms. The hot pots are quite good and you get a lot of food. The cold shrimp, chili and pineapple salad was so refreshing in the summer while the soups are perfect for winter. Once or twice I have gotten something that wasn't quite what I expected but never have I had a bad dish; all are delicious! Just had the Hot and Numbing Combination since I wanted it all! Absolutely delicious! Huge shrimp, beef, chicken and the best fish along with a large variety of vegetables and sweet potato noodles in the traditional hot and numbing liquid base. It had every meat and veg I was craving including wood ear mushrooms which I love. It arrived in a steel pot over a flame to keep it hot. Enough for two decent meals. Service was super fast and friendly.

While staying in Williamsburg recently I came here to try this location, since I’ve tried all the others where I’ve stayed in the past. The menu here is probably one of the more complete menus I’ve seen at a Peter Chang location, with all the typical items at his restaurants, as well as many more items. The place is pretty large inside and when I got there on a Sunday soon after they opened for the day, I was the first customer and the only one for a few mins, then the customers came and soon the parking lot was full. Service was friendly and fast. The food tasted pretty good. It wasn’t exactly what I wished for, but it was still a LOT better than any American style Chinese restaurant. The heat level was decent as well, though I didn’t sweat as much as I typically do when eating at Peter Changs. Overall, definitely decent… I’d come back, I’d just try a different set of entrées next time.

The service and environment is not terrible, but the interior and seating is very plain. So I don't get that nice atmosphere of outside dining. Feels like any other strip mall seating for me, maybe am just picky. The pricing are average, but not cheap at around $18 average. Mabo Tofu: The meat was a bit chewy, but the sauce was fine. I just thought the meat they used was too chewy for mabo. It was good volumn though. The spice was good, but it just doesn't hit the spot. It felt like it was misses something. Seafood Stone Pot: This is good, with lots of seafood in it, fish, shrimp, and veggies. Wonderful blend that is fantastic to eat on rice. I'd just recommend and probably would only order this dish. Sweet and Sour soup was fairly plain and missed the mark. Strip mall soups taste better than this.
