I had a bad experience here 2 night's ago!! Last summer everything was great with our grandsons!! It was just my husband and I and we had a King room as soon as we walked in the room,we knew it was going to be a long night!! You could tell the bed was horrible it was slanted on one side!! I could feel springs in it and the pillows were straight out of a cheap store, like the stuffing was separated and all uneven!! It was the worst bed I've ever slept in... I've had open heart surgery and have a plate in my chest!! I'm still in pain!! So I grab a book they have in all rooms and see oh they have a nice breakfast from 7am to 10 am... This was written twice in this book!! So at 9:10 am I walk down to lobby where breakfast is ,I ask a employee where the plates and cups are , he says breakfast is over it was ok very at 9 am... Well I go back to my room grab the book and take it to the girl at the front desk, I said please read where it says that you serve breakfast until 10 am in 2 different sections of the book!! She holds up a piece of paper and says you should have gotten one of these when you checked in ,it said breakfast is served 7 to 9!! I said when we checked in at 11 last night the guy gave us our room key and that's it!! I'm sorry do you want a biscuit she said!! No I do not want a biscuit God only knows where you are gonna pull that from!!

I had an enjoyable time at the Best Western Historic Area Inn during my 3-day visit to Williamsburg. This hotel is now branded as Best Western instead of Best Western Plus; however, they greatly met my expectations. PROS: *Comfortable, clean & spacious rooms. *Comfortable bed providing an easy 8-hour sleep. *Plenty of hot water in the shower. *Indoor swimming pool and hot tub. *Fitness center *Complimentary Breakfast with a large selection of hot and cold foods. The dining area was well-stocked considering how busy it was. Eat indoors or enjoy a morning breakfast on their outdoor patio. *Free onsite parking. *Less than 2 miles from Colonial Williamsburg and from downtown. *Reliable wifi in the rooms. *Washer/Dryer on site for self-service at an additional fee. *Discounted tickets available to an area theme park. RECOMMENDATION: *If you want to sleep early, ask for a room away from the pool area which is open until 11 p.m. If you plan to visit this area, the Best Western is clean, quiet and offers many amenities. They are conveniently located near numerous restaurants and attractions.

When I got here I was greeted by a very rude employee who basically grunted at me as soon as I said hello. Every step of the checking in process was a continuation of rudeness. Like pretending she couldn't read my ID and acting my credit card wasnt going to work for no good reason. When I finally got to my room I was in for a big surprise, it was occupied already! She really sent me to a room people were already in. Thankfully the people were currently out of the room but when I went down to tell them they had the nerve to ask if I was "sure." Barely even apologizing they gave me another room, the best part of this room was that the fridge door fell off. Even though I pay for a room with a fridge in it they offered to keep my food for me, no thank you. I was done dealing with rude employees at this point and scared of what the next room could be like. Saved from 1 star because morning employees were nice. Wasnt gonna leave a review but I hate getting rude treatment from hotels. If you're going to be rude you should at least be competent.

Good Day When arriving on Thursday, June 14, 2018 the lobby in Best Western Plus located on 201 Bypass Road looked clean and decent. The staff members were very polite and very accommodating. When i arrived to the first room 421 I opened the door and the room appeared clean so I started to check the beds before I settled in, they seemed okay. I opened the closet to hang up the clothing and that's where the roaches were, four of them looking for a place to hide. I went to the lobby and they switched my room to 419 and said they would fumigated 421 in the morning because at the hour I arrived there was nothing that could be done. I checked that room and didn't see anything that night so we slept there BUT, there was hair in the tub and on the bed sheets. I was informed that I took the last available room so I did not bother saying anything since i knew there was nothing available. In the morning I asked if the room was really going to be fumigated and they said yes but I would have to check out and leave my bags in the Lobby office until room 421 was cleaned/ fumigated. Since I did not want to leave my bags unattended or put them back of the main desk, I chose to stay in room 419 but I started taking notice of my surroundings. On the floors there were NO signs indicating that the hotel is under construction, ONLY in front of the elevators on the floors. No where else were there any signs NOTHING IN THE LOBBY. The carpentry work in the lobby is extremely poor the moldings are not all attached to the wall leaving a gap, this was throughout the hotel. The carpet is not dirty but filthy, stains everywhere. There is a stagnant smell. I went up the stairs (our family was staying in room 227) and there were dead roaches all over the stairs for the 4 days we used the stairs, clearly indicating that the stairs are not swept. The elevator was filthy the buttons are dirty, there are spider webs and dust affixed the the walls inside the elevators, the walls are stained and there are dripping in the walls that were never cleaned. When I returned to my room on the second night I decided to place some clothing in the drawers and there was a roach in there. I tried to find another Hotel and there were no availability so I decided to stay and sleep with the lights on because at this point I have no other choice. The third night there was another roach walking across the table located by the window. In the bathroom there is wall paper and in the corner on the ceiling a roach went in, I could not reach it but enclosed a picture. Please note there was no food brought to the room that was not in the refrigerator, NOTHING was left out. On the 3rd night there was a foul smell on the second floor again but on the 4th night it was clear something died, a mouse or something. If Best Western has an inspector that evaluates and inspects the hotels this is one that has to be evaluated. I am sure that they would not pass inspection as I have attached pictures to support my claim. I did not want to post this on any site because I sincerely hope this complaint will fall on someones desk and they are concerned enough to follow through. I reviewed some of the complaints on the site and they were close to mine but I did notice that they were all an appeasing response to their experience. Please do not respond by telling me I was reimbursed $87.10 or that your sorry and I hope that next time I make reservations my experience will be different because I can tell you I will not be staying in any Best Western, once was enough. Unfortunately for me this was my first experience and my last. Please see...

I bought two nights for cheap on groupon. Easy enough I called about an hour later to make sure everything went through and it did. I told them I would be checking in around midnight to 2 am as I was driving from Philadelphia. Lobby was clean and the front desk associate was kind. Opened my room and had to turn on the Ac as it was off. The room was humid and hot and I wanted to just go to sleep. Checked the bed for bedbugs and everything looked clean. The bathtub soap holder, whatever it is called had old bar soap smushed into it, so I'm guessing the the bathtub wasn't cleaned properly. I don't take baths at hotels so wasn't a deal breaker for me. The room still wasn't cool when I woke up hours later, but was a comfortable room temperature. Even though I had it on high blast set at 60 degrees. Went to eat breakfast which was decent. They had cereal, grits, eggs, bacon, and French toast so they said... The French toast was just regular bread that you put in the toaster and can top it off with toppings. They had coffee and juice as well. We went out to Busch gardens and dinner before returning back to the hotel. The room was still a comfortable temperature, but it would have been more ideal for me to have it cooler, especially because I ran the Ac all day at 60 degrees at high cool. I woke up around 1 am to go to the bathroom and found a roach on the wall. Not a Waterbug, but a brown roach. Went to the front lobby and was swapped to another room without an issue. The front desk associate, which was another one than check in was apologetic and asked me what floor did I want my room on. I didn't bother asking for a discount or anything because I wanted to go to bed and knew I wouldn't get one anyways. I went to my new room. Once again checked the bed for bugs and found no bugs, but a nice stain, possibly urine? I just was so tired and had to get up early so I dealt with it. It was bad enough moving 2 kids and 2 adults at 1 am to a different room. We ate breakfast the next morning once again. There were ants crawling by the cereal. Around 10-20 that I would say. My girlfriend notified the employee and he said it's an ongoing battle with them... But never cleaned them up until later.. The staff are very accommodating and nice. Breakfast is decent. But the bugs need to under control. Where there is one roach. There are many, as they live in packs. It's a fact that Google will tell. Also many dead water bugs in the staircases. At-least sweep them up.. I took pictures of the bugs, and the bed but didn't get the ants as I didn't have my phone at breakfast. I expected better from best western. Wanted to mention that the beds were comfy enough for me. The Ac on the second room did get cooler than the first, but definitely did not get cool...

Where do I begin…we reserved two rooms. One for my teenage daughters and the other for me and my husband. They were next to each other and the room for my girls was good. However ours was rancid. The smell was so bad that we had to get another room…at the other end of the hall. No big deal because our kids are great. But the next morning my daughter shows me a video of her bathroom. ANTS everywhere. The shower and counter. I had to see it for myself. I was grossed out. We had to move them rooms. Our water was Luke warm. I have never experienced that before at any hotel. My girls complained that the water pressure in the shower was too powerful and that it hurt. And they were right because it was the same for our bathroom as well.

Breakfast. Have you ever been to a hotel that offers a hot breakfast and only had powdered creamer? If not then just come to this hotel because that is all you will get. I am a huge coffee drinker but not a picky one because the creamer will make up for the flavor or strength differences of my own preference. I had to find a store and buy creamer for my stay.

When we got to the hotel the next day my room had ants on the bed and night stand. Not nearly as many as my girls room so I didn’t go the front desk to complain but I was so upset. If this wasn’t a package deal with Busch gardens I would have demanded my money back and found a new hotel. I have never stayed at such a dump. My kids hated it too. The floor in the hallways were so filthy.

We haven’t stayed in a best western in a very long time so I may be clueless in my expectations. Meaning, maybe I set the bar too high? Are all of them this terrible? The area was nice so I never would have guessed that the hotel would have only one nice looking area inside…the front desk. The second you go further you notice the poor upkeep. For example, there are two elevators. Only one was operable and it was slower than a snail. We often opted to take the stairs and made it before the other patrons. The walls are so thin that we could hear the families in the pool (inside pool) from our hotel room. Thank god I wear earplugs. No family should stay...
