Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Williamsburg

I had a disappointing experience at Ollie’s recently. I arrived around 8:30 p.m., but the front-end cashier was vacuuming near the entrance and gave a hand signal indicating the store was closed, despite the posted hours clearly stating it closes at 9:00 p.m.

While some customers continued into the store anyway, others (including myself) were confused and initially stopped due to the cashier’s signal. There was no signage or verbal explanation provided. It felt unprofessional and gave the impression the store was trying to close early without reason. I hope management ensures staff adheres to posted hours and communicates more clearly with customers...

Loved finding this discount store! Very well stocked, organized, clean, with public restrooms in back left corner. Prices are very reasonable! There is everything from Rugs, carpet remnants, linoleum, plank flooring and tiles to lamps to portable heaters, to house supplies to bedding and mattresses, to linens to toys galore, to food, to Christmas decorations and cards to school or hobby supplies, etc. Great witty signs about their store policies on the walls. I bought an office chair there and the box was open so they gave me 10% off. Got the chair home, took all the parts out that were wrapped up in plastic, and realized that one of the arms was missing. I was not happy because now I had to put all the parts back in the box and drive to take this chair back to Ollie's. I wanted to just buy the display but they wouldn't agree or to give me the arm off the display, they wouldn't agree so I just got a refund.
