When we initially walked in, the cashier was very helpful when she discovered that it was our first time. We ordered a dozen cookies, for 4 people to share, so we decided that we each would pick 3 cookies. We asked if the cookies could be separated into 2 boxes (6 &6), and initially were told that that was possible, we gave our first 6 choices and the cashier decided that in order to separate the cookies, she would have to charge us for the cookies to be separated, another $14, when the dozen was already $35. We told her never mind, to put them all in the same box and we proceeded to give her the other 6 choices, only to discover that she cleared the screen, so we needed to start all over from the beginning, which confused everyone! We started over, giving our selections and we apparently only gave her 11, so she was visually irritated and was trying to rush us to figure out our final cookie. Meanwhile, whomever was working in the back, 2 females were visible and they too, were irritated and their body language suggested that we hurry up. After we made our order and paid, we stood there chatting and the cashier told us to move out of the way. I turned around to look behind us, as if someone else was waiting to order, so I could apologize for being in the way, but there was nobody else in the store. We were the only one's! By the time we stepped over, literally 2 steps to wait, one of the women from the back brought us our order, WHICH WAS IN 2 BOXES!!!! So, when you order a dozen cookies, does it automatically get separated into 2 boxes, due to the size of the cookies? Even though, I am sure that the owner, Chris, is possibly an awesome young man, I would suggest that he consider training his employees on proper customer service as well as product and supply management. The experience for me, would mean that I will never come back with my business. I would love to share recommendations for product distribution, equal proportions and waste management, to help protect his...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I stopped by to grab some cookies for my family during our vacation when I was out grabbing takeout for dinner. I saw really positive reviews and was definitely excited when they handed me the box of warm gooey cookies. Ordering was simple. The shop was so cute and clean. BUT… you’d think you would walk into a cookie shop and just smell the delicious smell of cookies baking. NO… it was a nauseating smell of cleaning products. It was so strong that I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I truly wondered if this was normal or if I just caught them on cleaning day. The cookies looked delightful though. We couldn’t wait to try them after dinner. I thought that that would make up for the terrible smell in the shop. But it gets worse. The cookies tasted like the cleaner smell in the shop. I kid you not! I thought it was just trapped in my nose. But my husband, who wasn’t there with me, tasted it too. I just couldn’t eat the cookies because all I could taste was that horrible “smell” of the cleaner that was used in the shop. It was so disappointing to spend so much money on cookies for them to taste like cleaning products. I am willing to bet the cookies truly were delicious and I’d be willing to try again if they weren’t tasting like the cleaner smell. I did not expect that given soo many positive reviews. I’m not sure if we would be willing to try again. But if we ever do, I’ll update.
Update: The owner is now commenting saying this is a fake review. It’s not. We visited the shop in Williamsburg 2 days ago. I’m not trying to post fake information to damage a business. Just disappointed in...
Read moreFirst off before I decided to go here, I read the story of how this place came about. Her son was selling her homemade cookies in order to pay for college and the business just grew!!! As a college student myself I knew I had to at least try this place if not that night, before I went back to New Jersey that Monday. My 7 years old almost demanded cookies on our way home that I promised way earlier that day so when we Google Cookie spots at midnight we were so happy to see they were opened until 1am that night! We get there and because it was a slower night for them they were closing early and literally walking out. Not only did she open her store completely back up for us her cookies were delicious! Do you hear me!!! They were so good!! We had ours with ice cream, my baby girl added sprinkles and whip cream to hers! I told her we’d be back before we left to go home. The next day we went before we headed home and she greeted us with the same beautiful smile the night before. She was so pleasant and warm welcoming! My daughter has marked this spot her favorite place in the world!!! Lol since we have yet to travel the world we will definitely both say this is our favorite place in Virginia!!! Definitely a must go to new comers and definitely will be a revisit...
