A friend who was visiting from Florida loves the thrill of sifting through upscale consignment shops, so when she’s in town, I research new places for she and I to experience together. This trip around, I was fresh out of ideas, so I contacted an old time friend for suggestions. She pointed me to “It’s So You.” Patty welcomed us upon entering the spacious, yet not overwhelming shop. She explained how the store was set up. Saying that my friend and I had the time of our lives is an understatement. I felt like a little kid in a candy store. The selection of clothing and accessories was not at all mundane. It was exhilarating seeing not your run of the mill articles of clothing. I left with several bags of treasures in hand. An example being, a black jacket with hot pink martini glasses embroidered throughout. The bonus is it’s lined, so I can wear it as an outer jacket. Another find was a white pair of hoop earrings with a red apple and a slice of watermelon on each earring. Colorful and fun! They also have a nice selection of household decor. This year for Christmas, I’ll have a cardinal theme on my outdoor balcony. I’ve been purchasing cardinal themed items for the past couple of months. As I was browsing through the store’s merchandise, I stumbled upon an afghan with cardinals scattered throughout. It was the perfect find to drape over the black metal settee. Two sweet fall baby themed figurines, which will be a gift for a friend, somehow managed to find its way into my stash of treasures. Patty also was kind enough to share the names of a couple of other consignment shops near the surrounding area. “It’s So You” was by far my friend’s and my favorite! I hope you find your experience here as fun and successful as we did. Thank you, Patty, for adding to our pleasant...
Read moreSo I went to a Consignment/boutique (@It's So You in Willoughby) to see if I could put some stuff on consignment to clear out my closet with things I can no longer fit (& I really don't wear heels anymore). So it's a bunch of things that have only been wored once & are still brand new and still in style, I simply can't fit or don't wear these thing anymore. I looked around while they went thru my stuff and then they called my name to talk about the things I brought in not even 2 minutes later. So I get to the counter and not 1 out of the 40 items I brought in was acceptable for consignment, but the things I saw while looking around for those 2 seconds couldn't even compare to the condition of my belongings. Or it is that, I am BLACK WOMAN, and I don't have white woman clothes. "Well, she really didn't give me a reason why but we're not accepting these, or boots, only spring stuff." Me: "Well, there's some Sam Edelman's sandals, only been wore once." "Well, you can bring those back during the Spring". "But you just said you're accepting Spring stuff not winter". How does that make any sense? So if you are in Willoughby, do not spend your money here BLACK WOMEN. They don't respect...
Read moreIf your looking to co-sign sell your clothes here run far away! They are extremely picky and overpriced while they give you barely anything for name brand new clothes. When I say picky I mean it their relentless. I’m never coming here again not even to purchased clothes their prices are way too high for a used clothing store. They looked through my clothes like I was a homeless person off the street bringing them in from a garbage can. I brung in my clothes just as they requested on a hanger and in a clear long tote. How they treated me was completely uncalled for. Then they have the nerve to change a co-sign fee of $10 just to sell your clothes to them. Your better off going to platoes closet or uptown. Far better customer services and those places and better prices. This is just an over priced GOODWILL. Take that back...
