Just really disappointed...
First off let me just start by saying that in the past I have had positive experiences with this mechanic shop. Until now...
What should have been a $250-$300 repair became $900.00. I took my truck in with a perfectly healthy alternator that was just replaced in November. It was not an aftermarket part, but in fact a Ford part. All of the sudden my alternator along with the simple leak of coolant that I sent the truck in for to begin with, had to be replaced. They only wanted to use a Ford alternator which they wanted to charge me MSRP (100% mark up on, because the Part was 320ish on Ford parts.com). He originally told me 620ish just for the part and then he came down to $500.00 additional, installed... Go figure it went from $390ish to $900 just like that.
I was supposed to drop off another vehicle for work at the same shop, when I picked up my truck, and then opted not to. The fact that I have taken our business trucks there prior, it's disappointing that something so simple turned into something so difficult. To say the least, I did not drop off my other car. Also, the oil change that I asked Zeb to do on the original truck I dropped off, never even got completed so now I'm in a position of having to take it elsewhere for an oil change as well...
I guess the worst part about it, is I had to call them repeatedly as opposed to them calling me for updates. Without me calling them first for an update, I would have just been sitting around waiting for my truck and not knowing how to coordinate my schedule. It was in the shop Mon-Wednesday. Funny part about it, is that we drove by and saw the truck sitting out in their parking lot and decided to call to see whether or not it was completed, only to find out that it was completed and nobody had bothered calling us.
They're very close to my house so it was always convenient but obviously I need to locate a new mechanic. 😔😔😔...

I know when they are recommending a job, that’s what actually needs to be done, not just running up the bill like some places. In fact, on this last job they did there were two options for me in order to fix the issue... Believe it or not, Tyler’s actually recommended the cheaper solution, which was about half the cost of the other job! They set a price and kept to it.
What I appreciate most about Tyler’s is they are extremely communicative. They called and updated me in how things were going. Even more importantly, when it came to deciding on what what repairs were needed, they were extremely thorough in explaining not only what was wrong, but how that effected the vehicle, what the repair entailed and what exactly would improve with said repair. Rather than feeling cheated or talked down to, these conversations really helped me to feel confident that the job I was having them do was the correct approach and would bring about satisfactory results.
I got my truck back and she’s running better than she has in years. Tyler’s is a top notch shop and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anybody needing work done on their vehicle! Thank...

My husband had always gone to the dealership for repairs, but I convinced him to try Tyler's for what we were cautiously hopeful would be a quick fix. It wasn't. We had been having trouble with the Tahoe for a while, and this ended up being several significant problems, none of which were ever solved by the local Chevrolet dealer, despite multiple visits to Wilsonville Chevrolet. Let me start with Zeb - what a bright, friendly, and super experienced professional. He patiently worked with us to solve a pretty big problem, and we couldn't be more pleased. Yes, it took time for Zeb and his awesome team to get to the bottom of our complicated problems with the Tahoe, but we now have a car that works better than it has in two years. No more getting dismissed by a dealer who continued to return the car to us saying the problem was fixed, it wasn't.
