I don't even know where to start. Every time I have visited this pharmacy since switching from the one in Lake Oswego it has been nothing but trouble and a hassle. One mistake after the other and several RUDE employees. So we will just start with the latest incident. I had ordered a prescription and asked for a 90 day supply online. The prescription was filled for a 30 days supply, then my doctor was contacted to see if a 90 day supply would be ok. He approved it and when the 90 day supply was ordered my insurance rejected it as a refill too soon. Ok at this point I would think someone would have figured out, wait there is a 30 day supply here. Why was it even filled as a 30 day when I REQUESTED the 90 day to begin with? So I call the pharmacy. The person who answered was short with me and couldn't seem to comprehend what I was talking about. I later found out this person was Deborah. She finally figured it out and was very short with me. Had a tone in her voice that didn't make me feel like a valued customer, but more of a bother. I have had this same issue with someone in the past at this pharmacy.
Then I go to pick up my prescriptions, Deborah is the person that helps me and this is how I found out she was the one I spoke with on the phone. And she is the Pharmacist. One of which I have transferred. My primary insurance doesn't cover the transferred prescription, so I ask that they bill my secondary. It comes back as I have primary insurance. REALLY? Costco had NO problem filling this with my secondary insurance? Deborah doesn't offer any solutions. When I mention that I have had problem after problem with this pharmacy she just says, "I don't know anything about that". No sympathy no apology. Just "I don't know anything about that" in a snippy tone of voice. Yes, I got snippy back. There comes a time when you finally have had enough. Problem after problem, rude employee after rude employee. I mentioned that to her and she interrupts me in the middle of saying it to ask for the 2nd time for my address.
Again I NEVER had these issues at the Lake Oswego Walgreens. But ever since I have transferred here it appears my business is not appreciated and not welcomed. Considering there are many other pharmacy options available in my area I am surprised by this. With Fred Meyer opening soon with a drive thru pharmacy right across the street. I would think Walgreens would want my business. So I told Deborah to forget the prescription that I would take my business elsewhere. Her response? "Well if you have somewhere else to take them that is fine". Was that appreciative or wanting my business? Not in my eyes! Never an apology for the issues, just a "what do you want me to do about it". Nope, not feeling valued or validated. I apologize for getting snippy back with her, but I did not appreciate the lack of understanding I was receiving. I did not appreciate yet another problem having my prescriptions done right the first time. I thought the pharmacy was suppose to make my life easier, not harder. I appreciated that Walgreens had a drive thru as I am disabled and have difficulties walking. This time I had gone inside to get my prescriptions. But since there will be another drive thru option opening soon my business will go there. Until then another pharmacy in the area will get my business.
Never have I dealt with a pharmacy like this. Never again will I deal with this pharmacy, nor will I bring my business to Walgreens in general. Instead I will let people know how I was treated. They can make their own decisions on if they want to give you their business. But wouldn't it have been so much easier to apologize for the inconvenience instead of get snippy and defensive with a lack of understanding of how frustrating it must be? I...
Read moreUPDATE - 11/22/2023: I'm updating my review from 1 star to 3, solely because of the store manager Tasha in which the rest of the store and Pharmacy has her to thank for.
After over 2 months of dealing with the Walgreens Pharmacy's error and the inability for them to reverse out the insurance claim showing my meds were sold when they in fact weren't, Tasha was able to get this finalized in the matter of 15 minutes (literally), with my prescription finally being filled after going 10 weeks without. With the exeption of Tasha, the burden of communication was 100% on me (seriously, not a single time did anyone from Walgreens contact me until I made a formal complaint, with Tasha immediately following up 11/21 after leaving my complaint the night prior). Tasha let me know she was brand new to this location and was unaware of my situation and length of time I'd been dealing with this until she received my complaint, immediately getting involved and getting me a resolution.
I'm a very understanding individual, but to physically go into this store on 3 separate occasions, with multiple phone calls asking for follow-ups on the status, my own insurance company even involved, and being forced to re-explain the issue every single time because communicaion wasn't even prevalent between the staff on this issue, to then only to be met with "we're working on it" - this is unacceptable with receiving zero communication over a two month peiod.
Tasha - thank you for all you did to get this resolved for me.
11/13/2023: I never give less than 5 stars to businesses, but this Walgreens Pharmacy is absolutely pathetic.
It's been 2 months and I still don't have my prescription that was "sold" when they had a system update/issue that claimed I picked up my meds. This is a controlled substance in which the pharmacy has verified 4 separate times with both myself and my insurance provider that this was never picked up, and even reviewed camera footage to ensure I did not pick this up after their system issues, yet they still can't seem to reverse out this insurance claim. This has caused me to go without my medication for the last last 60 days of my 90 day supply. Absolutely pathetic. Thank goodness these meds aren't a matter of survival (just my daily health and function, no big deal). I'm never shopping here again and will do my best to never have my loved ones fill prescriptions here in the...
Read moreI'll start off by saying something positive... they seemed to have stopped closing early to a lack of staff???. What they have been doing is operating on an assumption, a bias, and an incorrect perception. The other day the actions based on that assumption, bias, and incorrect perception placed such barriers and unattainable expectations that it kept me from obtaining and my doctor from prescribing a medication I had been without for several days and that I have taken for years. Perception is not always reality and assumptions without facts are nothing more than judgements. This dynamic duo of Emily and Samantha could use some trauma informed care training. I felt placed into a box with a label that says "GUILTY" without either of them asking me any questions, without them expressing any care and concerns and without any of the "we care about our customers" that Walgreens pride themselves on. I felt nothing but judgement, barriers to get my medication, and I believe it's fair to say..... discrimination. This is not my first negative experience of having to jump through hoops and given almost unattainable expectations in order to pick up my prescription from these "healthcare providers". I did end up getting my medication but had to travel 45 minutes to get there. My doctor said to fill it at his office because he knows what's up. I would also think the duo is insulting his intelligence by continuously questioning him and making him go to lengths he does not have time for. It's ridiculous! I work with trauma survivors and even if I didn't I have enough wisdom, common sense, and life experience to know that no two people are the same, no two situations are the same, and never "judge a book...
