The River House — Local services in Wimberley

Visited this store w well behaved tweens. The much older dirty blonde woman was rude and mouthy. There are no signs that say do not touch ANYTHING. She was ranting to the store associate that the kids were touching everything and their parents weren't doing anything about it. I happened to over hear and being that we are the only folks in the store, I Kindly let her know the children would gladly not touch anything if she would just ask,she responded well they should know. Again, well behaved children who were browsing to spent their money they had. We went to other boutiques and spent our money elsewhere. We visited other boutiques and thanked them for providing a family friendly environment unlike River House. They were not surprised at the treatment we received in the store and noted that many leave the store empty handed and that the environment in the store (River House) significantly helps their business and people leave without purchasing. While this store had a few passably nice items, I will never be returning. The entirety of the staff was rude to me and to my dear mother, who was shopping with me. They looked me up and down with this distainful look on their faces while they whispered to each other. I'm wearing chinos, a blouse, and a Gucci bag so I'm not sure how this was started, but it was very pointed and clear that they did not want me as a customer. It was offensive and tawdry. Their responses to any question or comment we had were sharp or condescending, as though we were wasting our time.
