Completely unprofessional and irresponsible customer service. I took several brand new + name brand items here, ALL sealed, still in original tags and individual packaging. These were a part of a larger collection I had, where most were sold this last weekend at another Plato's Closet location. The items were the exact same brand, same styles, same sizes, etc. Not only did the first location purchase everything I brought, but they asked if I had more to get rid of because of the brand name + quality. Being the Woodbury store is closer to where I live, I decided to take in the items I had left behind the other day. First, the staff no longer lefts you drop things off and come back for them. You are required to wait in the store until they are finished. I was quoted 20-30 minutes, the person behind me was quoted 45 minutes. 45 minutes they NEED to stay in the store, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you can't stay, you need to take your items with you before you go. Second, the staff came up to me asking if it would be okay to open the packaging to some of my items, which the other Plato's Closet had explained just days before was due to needing to verify the condition of items AFTER they knew they would want the opportunity to sell what I had in their store. The clear packaging has labels on each item which states exactly what the items are, their size, etc. There should be no reason to open anything unless it's to complete a purchase to ensure the items are indeed new and good quality. If staff was unsure whether to buy an item, the clear packaging which contained complete descriptions should have been sufficient enough to make a determination. Opening the original packaging would be acceptable IF AND ONLY IF they had chosen to follow through with a purchase in order to verify the condition and quality, and NOTHING MORE. Anyway, I agreed based on the knowledge I had been given from staff at the others Plato's Closet just 2 days before. Once the Woodbury staff had ripped open the clear packaging of my new items, they explained they would not be buying any of them as most were swimsuits. I can accept that not every location has the capability to sell the same products, but why wouldn't staff have stayed this to me after reading the label off the first clear package they picked up? Not only did each label provide easy to read descriptions (states swimsuit bottoms, swimsuit bra/tops), but the packaging was 100% translucent which allowed anyone looking at it to see exactly what was inside. The choice to rip open each package and then stuff the items back in unfolded and crumpled up to where no one would have any idea what was in the bags anymore is not just unacceptable behavior. Some of the packages had been stuffed with multiple different items as though it was pieces of trash shoved into a trash bag. THIS IS NOT OKAY WITH ME!! NOT WHEN EACH ITEMS RETAIL VALUE STARTS AT OVER $60!! What am I supposed to do with what was handed back to me? I can't claim any of it as new anymore because it's not. I am outraged by what this store has done, and am really debating whether I should take steps to try and recover what I've now lost due to...
Read moreI recently visited Plato's Closet in Woodbury, Minnesota, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! As someone who loves fashion but also likes to stay on a budget, Plato's Closet is a dream come true.
First off, the store is incredibly well-organized and clean. It's easy to navigate through the different sections, whether you're looking for jeans, dresses, shoes, or accessories. The layout makes it simple to find exactly what you're looking for without feeling overwhelmed by clutter.
The selection of clothing and accessories is impressive. They carry a wide range of brands, from high-end designers to popular mall brands, all at a fraction of the original price. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the items. Everything I looked at was in excellent condition, and many items still had their original tags attached. It's clear that the staff takes great care in selecting the items they buy.
Speaking of the staff, they were fantastic! Everyone I interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. They offered great fashion advice and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. It's evident that they enjoy their jobs and take pride in providing excellent customer service.
One of the highlights of my visit was the selling process. I brought in a few items from my closet that I no longer wore, and the staff quickly evaluated them. They offered me a fair price, which I could either take in cash or use as store credit. The process was quick and hassle-free, and I appreciated the opportunity to make some extra money while decluttering my wardrobe.
I also loved the dressing rooms. They were spacious, well-lit, and clean, making it easy to try on multiple outfits. The mirrors provided a great view from all angles, and there were plenty of hooks to hang up my selections.
Another great aspect of Plato's Closet is their commitment to sustainability. By buying and selling gently used clothing, they're helping to reduce waste and promote a more eco-friendly approach to fashion. It's a win-win situation: I get to refresh my wardrobe with stylish, affordable pieces, and I feel good knowing that I'm making a positive impact on the environment.
Overall, my experience at Plato's Closet in Woodbury, Minnesota, was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of great prices, high-quality items, excellent customer service, and an eco-friendly mission makes this store a true gem. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to update their wardrobe without breaking the bank. I'll definitely be returning soon!

Read moreIf I was able to give "0" stars, I would! The girls working tonight 3-18-22 were very unprofessional and could use a little more training on customer service! I understand it may be a 1st job for most young girls but definitely needs a manager on-site to make sure they are doing their jobs and taking care of the customers. As I filled out the blue sheet of paper with all my information on it. Name, Address, Phone Number, the bags/totes my clothing came in and i was told just place it on the floor in front of the check in desk and that it will only take about 25-30 minutes and when my items were processed I would see my name on the white board when its finished . I replied okay, and i went looking around to see what they had to pass by time, went and tried a few items on in one of the fitting room, saw a sign saying only 6 items, i looked to see if someone was working the fitting rooms, there wasn't, I see about 5 young ladies surrounding the items that are supposed to be getting checked in by Maggie, I believe her name was. complaining about how late they were going to be there. I go in and try on the items I found, only like a few, put them on the rack and looked back and saw they were on my 3 white trash bags. I think to myself that sure was a long 30 minutes, See its almost 7:45pm. Wow! So i start to walk towards the front, this young lady comes up to me and says its almost closing time, you only have 10 minutes to be in here. I look at her confused and say, I'm waiting for you all to finish checking in my clothing. what is the hold up she walks away nervously I thought something isn't right. I ask again and was told they LOST MY SLIP! And didn't know what bags I had. Now I'm upset. This is the worst experience i had ever had. And who's to BLAME. The owner/manager! These girls NEEDS TRAINING!! I'm writing corporate This needs to be addressed to someone higher than the girls at the store or the manager who clearly isn't there or concerned about how its ran! I'm thrown back on how all this [played out and i was nothing but patient with it. I'll never be back to this location, and gave me a bad taste about this process, items being judged by young girls who don't even know how to process correctly! horrible!...
