UPDATE: Since my original post, I have been contacted by the store managers. I have been assured that this is NOT the culture of Coach and that the entire staff received training. I also spoke with Coach Outlet customer service and received very professional service as it relates to this incident. Everyone at Coach took this matter very seriously and I feel confident that this was an isolated incident. Thank you all!!....... Original post: So I visited this store today, and I entered the store wearing my Coach purse. I returned and re-purchased an item I'd bought online and then walked around for several minutes just looking around the store, I eventually got approached by a saleswoman asking me if I planned to purchase the purse- the one I was wearing! Now, the purse was across my body and my cell phone was sticking out of the side pocket. Couldn't help thinking , if I weren't a woman of color would I have been approached that way. When I proceeded to tell the naive young lady that this was MY purse, and even reached inside and showed her other coach accessories, she commented , " Oh, I'm sorry... it looks so new!" ...ummm it IS new but, what do you suppose she thought MY coach bag was supposed to look like? I mean, the bag is part of a line that has only been out for a few months. I spoke with the manager, who was apologetic and " nice" about it, thanking me for the feedback. I shop COACH all of the time- won't be back to the WOODSTOCK store. They got a 1 star rating only because, I love the product! Coach.Inc--- train your staff in diversity, that was clearly racial...
Read moreMy partner went to pickup an order and the associate who greeted him mispronounced his name several times after being corrected. As an Asian man living in America, he often chooses to use an "American" name because he unfortunately experiences this far too often. He hesitated giving his name, since his true name was used, and not the American name. He was prompted to give his name after showing the order receipt to the associate, so je had no choice and he caved. His last name is CHO. The associate pronounced it as CHOW. Even in English dictation this would be incorrect. He had to correct her. It's an obvious micro aggression to mispronounce a name that is even easy to pronounce in English. Do better or hire...
Read moreI'm quite certain this is the location that assisted me. I live in Chicago but couldn't find a particular bag that's out of stock online and stores anywhere near me. I went to the Coach flagship on my street and they let me know that a store in ATL/Woodstock had the bag showing in stock. So I called the store and everyone I spoke with was so friendly and helpful, and the whole process went smoothly. I'm a Louis Vuitton VIC but I have to say, the customer service and operations of Coach is stealing me away - even the outlet! Quality, warmth, efficiency. Being taken care of is a huge part of luxury that the major fashion houses seem to be...
