My experiences before today have been very positive. Tracy is wonderful and is the reason that I've wanted to continue giving my business to this salon. She is sweet, thorough, and pays excellent attention to every detail. She set the bar quite high and gave me many reasons to recommend this business to my friends.
Today, I went in for an acrylic fill and requested a nude and gold "French" manicure, which was a colossal mess. Upon leaving the salon and looking at my nails, I realized that the nail tech had left all sorts of black polish on and under my nails from when I had last gotten them done. The gold "chrome" he applied to the design had been polished on only two of my nails, leaving eight looking like sparkly glitter had been dusted on them. He didn't address my cuticles (something that is standard for most salons, including this salon with other nail techs), nor did he attend to my natural nails under the acrylic tips (also an industry standard, and one performed by other employees in this salon). All-in-all, they looked terrible.
I contacted the salon after leaving, and on my way to another appointment, and explained the situation to the passive-aggressive man who answered the phone. He eventually said I could return and they'd fix everything. When I arrived a few hours later, the original nail tech filed off his, or most of his, original work, still leaving a lot of residue and black polish. I told him to just use nude-colored polish instead of attempting the French manicure again. I even had to ask him to file off some of the black polish that he'd just missed so it wouldn't show from under the nude-colored polish. He applied only one coat of polish and one clear topcoat. Still remaining is a lot of black polish peeking through, black polish on the underside of my nails and around my cuticles. They look absurd!
Before leaving, I spoke with the man who seemed to be in charge, and I attempted to explain the situation. He was incredibly impolite and defensive, and would not even look at my nails. I asked for a refund, even a partial one, and he refused. Allowing a customer with 100% legitimate concerns to leave your business without a proper resolution is shameful, and to charge $70 ($80 with tip) for an acrylic fill with a single layer of polish is crazy.
Businesses attract repeat and loyal customers by being worthy of their loyalty. As a small business in a relatively small town, I would think you would want to take better care of the customers who choose you over the many others in the area who provide the exact...
Read moreI came in to get a pedicure last week. I watch the women struggle to take off my polish. I also watch her use a dirty old nail file, a buffer, her tools where in a basket with old napkin was not in a sanitary bag. She was trying to file my toes down and proceeded to break two of my toe nails. I choose not to get gel polish because of how poorly of a job she was doing. I also did not feel comfortable or welcomed. Staff was not friendly at all. My experience was terrible and I probably would never go back.
Update: I’m a nail tech, she did not use a the sanitize bags. It was in a basket with a dirty wet napkin, the file she use was an acrylic big long one. It was old and it was not a disposable one. The buffer she use looked used cause of the white marking of the buffer. That is completely unsanitary. I was disgusted that why I barely let her even polished my nails. I got up and left. I would...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at this salon, but unfortunately, after my visit yesterday, I won’t be returning. I came in for a mani/pedi. While the leg and foot massage was excellent, the rest of the experience was disappointing and painful.
The technician hurt me while clipping my big toe—I actually had to say “ouch” out loud because of how hard he clipped. Even worse, my cuticle was cut on my left ring finger so badly that it bled. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the injury, which was frustrating. Perhaps there was a language barrier, but regardless, the quality and care just weren’t there.
Honestly, I don’t think I should have been charged for the manicure at all. I’m really disappointed because I used to enjoy coming here, but after this experience, I’ll be taking my...
