I decided to give this place another try after not coming here for about four or five years. I noticed the same manager was still there, which honestly surprised me. I thought that with all the new renovations and updates they had done recently, maybe things would be different this time around. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The overall experience felt almost exactly the same as it did years ago, just with a slightly nicer interior. The food was still lacking in flavor. Most of the options were bland and unmemorable. The only dish that stood out in a good way was the Korean barbecue chicken, which was actually pretty decent. Aside from that, the variety of food was very limited. There just were not many choices available, especially for people who are looking for more than the basics or something a little more exciting. The dessert section was also a letdown. I was especially disappointed by the ice cream. I usually love ice cream, especially vanilla, but this one was far too sweet. Instead of tasting creamy and milky like I prefer, it just tasted like straight-up artificial sweetener. It reminded me of pure Splenda or some overly processed sugar substitute, and I could not even finish it. The boba tea was another miss. It tasted very watered down, almost like they just used some powder mix or prepackaged ingredients and added water. It definitely did not taste like real or freshly made boba tea. The flavor was weak and the texture of the boba pearls themselves was off, which made it hard to enjoy. All in all, it was a disappointing visit. While the place may look different on the outside thanks to the renovations, the quality of the food and drinks has not really improved. I was hoping for a better experience this time, but sadly it just confirmed why I stopped coming in the...
Read moreok i was a little worried about eating here because i read the reviews and they weren't that good. i was very pleasantly surprised. the food was relatively fresh for such a large buffet. the variety was wide. i left very full. the apple pie "cobbler" with ice cream was very good. i know food. i used to own my own place. the temperatures could have been a little warmer but i always chose the stuff at the bottom of the dish so it was hot. i especially liked the Mongolian beef. at first the slices looked very thin, but the flavor was very good and the meat was exceptionally tender!!! the sweet n sour chicken was good sized portions, not that stuff that's all batter. seafood was good also with wide variety as well. i tried to take 2 pcs of almost each item. ate it all but the one. i only had an issue with the price being a little high for dinner on a sunday. and the price of soda (glass of mostly ice) was $1.69. with a $10 dinner is a bit high, even with refills. the service was pretty good. plates were cleaned from the table immediately by one of the ladies in pink. she seemed more attentive than the others. btw, sweeping while customers are eating is pretty nasty. they really need to invest in one of those powerless sweepers instead. i didn't relish the idea of flying dust while i ate. it was 3 feet away. also, idk what that crazy grilled chicken/meat strip thing was, but that was the most God awful thing i've ever tried. yes, i would return here which is something cause i find it hard to eat out. i've seen too many kitchens and been sick too many times. one of the reviews said the restroom was nasty?? i was in there and it was clean. right down to the corners. ps. the "other chinese place" across the street was...
Read moreWhile I wouldn't claim expert status on buffets, I appreciate good food and friendly service when I encounter them. The New China Buffet, which could aptly be called the New International Buffet given its diverse offerings, delivered on both counts during my recent visit – my second in fact.
Cleanliness and Attentive Service: Stepping into the restaurant, I was immediately impressed by the clean and well-maintained space. The hostess, staff replenishing dishes, and our server were all courteous and attentive, providing efficient service without being overly chatty (which I personally appreciate in a dining setting).
Variety and Flavor: The true star of the show is the food. The buffet boasts an impressive variety of dishes, encompassing not just Chinese cuisine but also other Asian and American options. Everything I tried was fresh and flavorful, from the classic kung pao chicken to the surprisingly delicious pad thai.
Visual Appetizer: As you can see from the attached photos, the buffet is a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. While I couldn't possibly list everything available, suffice it to say there's something for everyone, regardless of dietary preferences.
Value for Money: And perhaps the most delightful aspect? The price. My entire meal, including a drink, came to a mere $14. Considering the quality, variety, and portion sizes, it's an outstanding value.
Overall:
If you're in the mood for a casual dining experience with a wide range of fresh and flavorful dishes, the New China Buffet is definitely worth checking out. The friendly service and reasonable prices add to the appeal. I'll certainly be back for another...
