CYLANTROS in Woodstock is another Venezuelan spot I like to stop by when i'm in the area. It is a smaller location but if you are near Kennesaw they do have another location there that opened up with a spacious inside. Cylantros is your typical Venezuelan stop for arepas, empanadas and tequenos. I think what surprises people is that their "Mexican" side of the menu (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc) is very very good as well. My brother lives about 5 minutes away from here so every time I visit I make sure I take the long way home so I can get my monthly fix!! Stop by and order some empanadas to go and maybe an arepa and let me know what you think!!! Roli's Rating: Service: 6/10, The location is friendly but they get very busy so your food may take some time to come out at times which can get frustrating if you are in a hurry. This is an order over the counter and grab your own refill location Price: 10/10, I have to give CYLANTROS a 10 on price because most of their items are very affordable. Their empanadas are about $1.80 each and even if you buy an arepa it'll only set you back about $7-$8 depending on which one you get. They also have large tacos at $2 and small tacos at $.99 which are GREAT if you want a mix of flavors like 1 chicken taco, 1 steak taco, 1 pastor taco and chorizo taco because although the tortilla is "small" they don't cheap out on the quantity of the meat Location and Parking: 5/10, Can't give it more than a 5 because although the location is fine in Woodstock the parking can be horrible because it is shared with a gas station. The location inside only will fit 2 or 3 small groups so you'll have to eat outside if slightly busy.... but no one wants to sit outside in this heat. I suggest you call ahead and order for pick up!! Cleanliness: 6/10, The place is small and tight so it may be tough for the crew to keep everything clean when the next person is there waiting for someone to leave their table Health Rating: B (84) Roli Overall Rating: 6/10 Roli's Recommendations STEAK AREPA, CHICKEN EMPANADAS,...
Read moreFor almost 5 years I have been a customer of Cylantros. Initially I began going here because I had a client from Peru who loved their food. We would go once a week. The more I ate, the more I enjoyed their food. So far I have yet to have anything that was so spicy I could not eat it. Many times and Latin or Asian food, you can run into something really hot. Although I love spicy food, I cannot do Indian hot nor can I do Vietnamese hot! That said, again, I have not encountered anything at this business that I'm not able to eat. It's always clean, fresh and wonderful.
My only complaint would be about their service and it's not so much that their service is bad, it's just you have to stand at a counter and wait for them to take your order. And then you go set and wait for them to bring you food. Because I'm handicapped and my clients are handicapped, standing at the counter can be an issue at time. Most recently my orders have come from home delivery apps.
For me, I love their arapas, their empanadas and any of their dishes that have a meat and rice and beans.. they come with the plane rice I think a couple of them might have a seasoned rice but you can get avocados and the sweet plantains are out of this world.
Most recently, one of their dishes reminded me so much of my mother's pot roast. It definitely had the Latin flair or taste but it was typical of a roast with potatoes and carrots that my mother would cook.
Excellent food.. clean food seasoned well and perfect temperature. I love to...
Read moreI finally got to try this gem yesterday and was not disappointed. (Don’t try to go on Sunday’s, they aren’t open) Two of us got tacos in corn shells. Pastor, steak and shrimp. These were good for a taco fix. I am always wary of ordering shrimp, but theirs was really good. I would definitely not hesitate to order any dish there with the shrimp. They were great. The steak was a tad dry. Just a bit for me but I still liked it and would order again. The other person got a steak burrito. They said it was good. I doubt that’s what you’re going to want to order though. They give you a hot sauce and a cilantro sauce. The red sauce is quite hot. Don’t get ahead of yourself on that one. The cilantro sauce is really nice. I can’t wait to go back here because I’m pretty sure what we ordered are not their specialties. Arepas! They looked so good. I absolutely can not wait to go back and try those. Fried. Yes please. They looked so dang good. The combo plate is like $13.99 and I can’t wait to give them that money. The prices may be a little higher than you’re expecting from a place attached to a gas station, but I say, worth it for sure. Food can be so boring in this area, so glad to have found something to look forward to. Their little outdoor seating area is actually pleasant to eat at. Don’t talk yourself out of...
